• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have two questions about Forward Collision Avoidance(FCA).

1. Is there a way to change the FCA setting to WARN and have the setting stick? My experience is that FCA resets to Active every time the car is started.

2. Has anyone else had FCA engage when approaching a crosswalk? Pretty scary - easy way to get read-ended. (That's why I want to turn it off.)

The change should stick when you turn it off. Keep in mind though that this and other settings will change if you change users.

On my 22 exp, I wonder if it‘s ever going to work. I had it set to full active and there are times I got pretty close the the car in front without my foot on the brake and nothing happened. I wonder because my other car would have warned me by then. I also noticed the Telluride has a shorter distance (more reasonable) befoeasy the blind splot warning activate. My other car does it even when the cars behind were quite far.

And the warning sound is quite loud even at lowest volume. You have to wait for the car next to you to be completely out of the blind spot view before turning on the signal or else you get a very loud warning. I can understand the reason but now I have to learn when to signal 😧

Some cluster settings, like RCCA, cannot be permanently disabled, and do re-activate when starting up the car again from off. Not sure if FCA was one of them.

If your FCA is causing you to emergency brake at a crosswalk with no pedestrians, that is definitely a problem that should not be happening. You may need a trip to the dealer to have the camera in the windshield recalibrated.
