Order to delivery time

Ordered my vehicle earlier in the month but hasnt gotten picked up in KFOS yet. Got a call from another dealer today saying he got dealer allocated what i was looking for and it will be in next month. I put a deposit on the car but he said he doesnt have a VIN yet. Is that odd not to have a VIN for something you should be getting in less than a month? I checked failcat and don't see the car in there for the dealer either. Hopefully this actually comes thru.

Not sure if it works the same for dealer orders but if it does then it sounds totally normal. It would get picked up in KFOS but Vin wouldn't be available for another month. My order was picked up in June and it just showed up in Failcat this week.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I ordered my Telluride on 03/22/21 I was told a few weeks ago that the estimated delivery date is 8/02/21

quick question, how much of a difference does it make what you order? I ordered EX AWD with no add ons, does that mean I am more or less likely to get mine in sooner than the other packages? or does it even matter?

I was called on 7/10 (during KFOS being open) and told Kia confirmed the build. Does that likely mean order accepted by KFOS? Was told this on 7/10 and no updates since.

In case someone was doing research like me and could not find any information about this specific location here, I ordered a Telluride SX-P GW with black interior napa on june 16th 2021 from Kia Quebec in Quebec city Canada, was quoted 6 to 8 weeks, found this forum and seen people waiting for way longer so I was anxious about timeline as I wanted to put my other vehicule into storage for winters from now on and needed the Telluride before then as it will be the car I will be driving in winter. just received the vin and ETA of august 5th, maybe this information will help some people near that area! I have not test drive or seen it in person, it will be a surprise, wishing for a good one.

I ordered a 2021 night sky black copper in Ottawa at the beginning of June and still don’t have a VIN! I’m in a similar situation with my current vehicle so hoping to get a VIN soon

I ordered mine (EX premium with tow package and roof rail cross bars) on May 2, and received it July 14th. It came in as a 2022 model.

Holy smokes, that is the fastest turnaround I've heard of by far. I ordered an SX two days before you but am not counting on it before October. Congrats!

I seriously think it was all luck and timing with the MY changeover and Kia pulling more orders last month than usual. And also ordering an S and not SX. Thank you!

I am in a similar situation, ordered EX AWD with no add ons and waiting. I am still not convinced but the dealer mentioned that Kia manufactures Tellurides and assigns those to dealers who have those requirements matched based on some algorithm. I wish that is not true.

So I stuck to the Sangria. I have a copy of the printout from Kdealer showing the order was input and accepted, a lot more than other people have. So I am confident there.

Not paying over msrp. I'm crazy but not that crazy! I went to another dealer. I'm selling my lease outright but don't want to too soon and be w/o a car for 4 months.

I liked this dealer too because I also paid MSRP plus $399 for a window tint which in Texas is a must. Then $399 for the actual custom order. So $798 total. I thought that was absolutely fair considering what other dealers were charging and only 3-5 months? Done!!!
