• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I know there have been threads earlier on this topic - but all of them I've seen is for the 2020/21 models. I have a 2022. I saw where in April there was supposed to be a version 15 of the software that re-instated the ability to re-order the radio presets. I looked at my software versions and I don't see a v15 in any of them. Not sure how to tell if I am current. I cannot re-order my presets. They just go in numerical order. Any suggestions?

Model ONBS.55BMC.US
Software Version ON22.USA.S5W_M.V001.001.210330
Firmware Version ON_22.USA.301.210305.MICOM.D
Navigation App Version STD5W,NAM,KMC,210309,8db990

My 22 same version, same issue. This is the first car that I’ve seen do this 🤔

Version 15.0 was released in mid-April. It still behaves the same as the last several software versions, sorted first by band and secondly in numerical order.

Your vehicle probably doesn’t have 15.0. Easiest way to determine is to scroll down a little further and find your map version number.

14.41.43.xx is v 15.0.
13.47.50.xx is v 14.10 from last November.

yup
Map Version NAM.13.47.50.610.301

Any reason to try and upgrade to 15.x? Do we have any reasonable expectation that they revert this idiotic behavior? :)

Updating from 14.10 (what you have) to 15.0 will only get you minimal changes. See the release notes here.

Additionally, even though you could theoretically apply the update currently downloadable for 2020-2021 models, I might caution against it given the vehicle controller issues that are being noticed on the 2022 models… either something further might go wrong when you perform the update, or your dealer may have difficulties diagnosing/correcting the vehicle controller issue once a fix is available if you’ve already performed an update not ”approved” for your vehicle.

With regard to whether they’re going to fix this in the future, your guess is as good as mine. They made the change to this style of preset behavior several updates ago. You can always hold out hope! Next update should be out later this year (maybe as soon as next month).

How do you find out when software updates are coming?
You can look at update.kia.com (the location for direct downloads) or Mapnsoft (location for ordering a ready-made USB stick for $25).

On the Mapnsoft site, it has always said they usually release updates twice per year. Last year, they did three (April, August, November). Now, it looks like it says March and September are the “normal” times of release. So really, it can happen whenever. They are typically predominantly map updates, but they do include software changes sometimes as well.

When I was on Mapnsoft’s site double checking this info, I noticed it does say they have an update for the 2022. So if you order a USB stick from them or download the navigation updater program and do it yourself, it should be an officially available version for the 2022 (even though it isn’t yet appearing on the list on the front of the update page on update.kia.com). Go and give it a try if you want, but know it isn’t really going to change much for the OP (or anyone with 14.10) right now.

Thx for this info! I asked for future reference; my car is 2 months old so it may be a little while before I try to update.
