• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey everyone,

We took delivery of our new 2022 S in ebony black on Friday. Does anyone know if there is a way to default to the radio screen on startup? It’s kind of driving me nuts to have to hit the button every time I drive the vehicle.

If you are talking about bypassing the disclaimer screen at startup, it is not possible.

If you are talking about Radio screen instead of home screen, it should retain memory of last map/radio screen used. However, there will be occasions where it will forget and default to home screen again.

The disclaimer is one thing. I’m more talking about going straight to the nixie radio screen from the disclaimer.

Mine comes to the boring home screen every time. I too would prefer it to go to the radio screen first (or at least the last used screen)

Sounds like another software issue to add to the list for 2022 owners. With April 2021 software version for my 2020, the Radio or Map screen will persist on startups ~90% of the time. Otherwise it defaults back to the home screen.

The disclaimer screen is always there. Big Brother pretending to keep you safe from yourself. It gets more wordy with the software update from Kia i just installed.

Solution: ignore it and it goes away shortly and crawls back under a rock till you start up again.

Over two years later and it’s still the same nonsense. I just had my 21 updated. Now I have the purple screen instead of it defaulting to radio after it goes past the confirmation screen. Wake up Kia! You make a great car and then you screw it up with something that cost you almost nothing to fix and is annoying tens of thousands of customers in the interim years

Agreed everyone. It should at least default to where you last left it. Seems like a pretty easy software programming fix. Having the almost blank home screen after the Confirmation screen is useless.

The short answer is you need to program the star button on the steering wheel and/or the one on the dash to whatever screen you want to have it default to when you press the button. When you get in your car, just a quick tap of the button and boom, bob's your uncle.

Appreciate the reply. I can do that now by tapping the Radio button which is the screen i prefer to default to. I know it's a 1st world problem, but it would just be nice for the display to default to that when I get in instead of the home screen that basically serves no function. But again, thx for replying
