  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,

I've got a 2022 EX AWD Nightfall/Premium/Tow in Gravity Grey/Grey Interior on order. Ordered 7/2 and it looks like my VIN came through on 8/22 with a 9/28 expected delivery date.

I've already found great info here and look forward to learning more.

Greetings fellow Minnesotan! It's a great vehicle and you'll love it in all seasons here.

Definitely excited for it. It seems like a great car at a remarkably good price.

This will be the first unibody vehicle (and the first without 4 wheel drive) I've owned in something like 30 years. In reverse chronological order, I'm coming from Jeep Liberty > Jeep Wrangler > Isuzu Trooper II > Mitsubishi Montero. I'm glad you're happy with the all-season performance. Winter handling is the only thing I worry about. Is Snow Mode up to the task in our lovely winter weather? Do you put on snow tires or keep the all season rubber that came on the Telluride?

I didn't have any trouble with driving in Minnesota last winter. I did not use snow tires. I was in Comfort mode most of the time, Snow mode occasionally when appropriate. Once or twice I used the AWD Lock when in deeper stuff. I took a couple trips to the North Shore in the middle of winter in some really snowy, icy conditions, and it worked great for me. You'll find plenty of others here who say snow tires are a must, so your mileage may vary.

The biggest winter challenge for me is that I avoid car washes. I found a decent touchless wash in the northwest part of the Twin Cities so that helps. I've also gone to some of the self-wash places where you use their sprayers and bring your own chemicals ... but those can be pretty chilly in some weather!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What will the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

Thank you. My 19 year old Jeep Liberty suffered a transmission failure on July 2nd. It was a solid vehicle (less than $1500 in repairs over its long life) so I can't complain. I'd been planning for this inevitability for the last few years. I was almost certain that I was going to buy a Toyota 4Runner but a friend told me I had to check out the Telluride first. I hadn't really considered Kia before the test drive but...wow. The SX I tested impressed the hell out of me in nearly every way. I went to the Toyota dealer and drove a 2020 4Runner. It was exactly what I expected (meaning it was fine and I liked it) but I couldn't get over the value proposition the Telluride offered. Other than true 4WD, I found the Telluride superior in every way. Granted, we're comparing a 20+ year old body on frame truck platform that really hasn't changed much to a brand new, clean sheet C or SUV with a lot of modern touches. But still, it was enough for me to buy my first "car" in 30 years.

One of the many things that attracted me to the Telluride is Kia's 10 year power train warranty. That's astounding and gives me hope I've made another solid 15 - 20 year purchase.
