3M PPF: Front Hood Lettering Install Issue

Any have 3M Paint protection film installed on their hood yet? During the install this morning the detailer called me and said that 3Ms laser template around the “Telluride” lettering is not lining up properly. Anyone else run into this problem with 3M PPF yet??...

The detailer is cutting a small rectangle around the lettering....we’ll see how it looks tomorrow upon pick up...I’m holding my breath!!

Why wouldn’t they send it back and get a new sheet? I wouldn’t accept the work if it looks bad.

I was told they laser cut it at the shop based on 3M software template and it must have been measured incorrectly at 3M; that’s why I was asking if anyone else had this issue?

I would honestly suggest having the letters removed, apply the PPF and then if you want the lettering have the replied over the film. I honestly would just have them removed. They are just a place for crap to build up and are miserable to detail around. I had them removed off of my Flex and never looked back. I actually had the dealer remove them before taking delivery, it was written into the purchase agreement.

They took mine off placed the ppf then put the lettering back.

Doesn’t mean every sheet is incorrect...could have been miss-cut

They should have removed the lettering, PPF and re-install.

Mine came with dealer installed PPF. Install was terrible. Hand cut around letters, inconsistent spacing around perimeter, ect. I insisted it all be removed and cost+ be removed from invoice. On many colors, PPF is ok, on white it will always look terrible in a matter of weeks.
