• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm developing a module, called the sprengBoard AutoPress that will automatically turn off the ISG (auto stop/start) and/or turn on auto brake hold shortly after the engine is started, and am looking someone that's willing to install one in their Telluride, take detailed photos of the install process, and give me feedback for the module (in exchange for a free module). I just received the first prototype batch and will be installing one in my vehicle (have a Honda Pilot until my Telluride comes in) this weekend. Once one is tested in my personal vehicle, I can mail the module to the Telluride tester.

Here's how it works: The module has two signal outputs - approximately 3 seconds after ignition, the module will send a signal to the vehicle's computer simulating a button press of whichever function the signal are connected to (ie. auto stop/start and auto brake hold). In short, every time the vehicle is powered on you can have either or both the auto stop/start turn off and the auto brake hold turn on without having to manually press the buttons on the console.

The module will need to installed underneath the center console (requiring removal of the console) and will need four connections to the wires coming off of the plug going to the back of the console button housing. I have images from the factory manual detailing how to remove the console, as well as a wiring diagram showing which connections need to be made. The module will connect to the existing vehicle wiring either by using inline taps, or simply by inserting the bare wires into the back of the factory connector and secured in place. The module can then be affixed to the underside of the button housing using velcro or double-sided foam tape.

I'll include wires, inline taps, heavy duty velcro, and instructions with the module. Once testing is completed and a couple minor design changes are made, the modules will be for sale on the Telluride Store.

If you're interested in testing out the module and are willing and able to take detailed photos of the install process, reply to this post. @arattle has already agreed to test one module - I need one more person to test.

(apologies for the poor quality photo, will have a better one soon)

Let me know when you're ready to start selling them.

Will do. I'll create a new post with all the info and a link to it on the Telluride Store.

Oh yeah. Following this. I'd love to test but I'm 4+ weeks at least from delivery

that's weird mine when mine starts those options are automatic off by default.

Consider yourself lucky! The ISG (auto stop/start) should be on by default, and the auto brake hold off by default. Just to note - the ISG won't be active until certain condition are met (engine up to a certain temperature, etc.).

I'm still in, hopefully console removal isn't too laborious. The deepest I got into the underbelly so far was replacing backup lights with LEDs- just had to pop off a couple of panels.

Just as a note, if I hit ISG button immediately upon start-up, it doesn't light up. I need to wait a second or two and press again. I'm hoping 3 seconds after ignition is enough time.

Good to know. I can very easily extend the wait time - would you mind testing, say, a 5 second delay before I ship yours out? (press ignition button to start the engine, wait 5 seconds then press ISG button).

Removing the console shouldn't be too difficult. Basically, you set the parking brake and shift into neutral, remove the shift knob and boot by pulling up (with force), then the shiny black panel should pop right out. There may be some connectors under the panel that need to be unplugged so the panel can be flipped over to work on. This is going off of photos from the manual so I can't comment on if there are any hidden screws, or how difficult these steps are, however.

ok so how do you know if its on or off ?the light on the dash is orange "A" correct? its her car as a commuter and she does not complain about it anymore. i think all i did was sit it in park press and hold the auto on/off button until it blinked off then i have not seen it on since then

I’d be willing to test this out. If you still need another person.

Great! Once I've tested it in my personal vehicle I'll PM you to get your address.

I'll test 3s and 5s tomorrow, with a timer. We're getting hit by Ida now, so it's pretty rainy!

It's possible 3s is fine. I think when I remember to hit the buttons, I hit them right away before I buckle in, so that could easily be <3s.

im willing to test it as well if you want more testers.

What you are describing is the ISG conditions are not met and it is not active at the moment. (orange A icon in the dash) When operating conditions are met that icon in the dash will turn green and the engine will turn off when coming to a stop. Pressing the ISG off button is required every time you start the engine to disable the ISG function. This is why there are some owners complaining about ISG because you can’t set it to be off by default.

Great! If more testing is needed I’ll definitely let you know

Did several tries at 3 seconds after ignition press, ISG shutoff works fine every time.

This is awesome! Let me know if more testers are needed!

Awesome! Thanks for doing that. I'll take some video of it in action in my Pilot this weekend.
