  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I read through this entire thread; Latest info on ordering through KFOS

I ordered a Telluride SX-P a couple of weeks ago, so thinking that I understood the ordering process, and also wanting some verification that my order had actually been entered, I contacted my salesman. I asked:

"Where am I in the line? I won't bug you much, but I'd like to set my expectations; As I understand it, I'm in a line at <dealership> and when I reach the front, you submit the order to Kia"

He replies:

"No..we submitted the order to Kia. They have a system or queue and they let us know when the order has been picked or fulfilled".

This runs counter to what I read through in the original thread (each dealer gets a certain number of allocations, and submit their orders to KFOS each month). Can anyone verify that what I am being told is legitimate? I don't want to wait months for this thing that never comes.

Just relax. You two are talking about the same thing, just because someone isn't using the exact terms doesn't mean they're not ordering your car. They use Kdealer to queue customer orders, and based on monthly allocations, a certain number of cars gets picked up. Once yours is "picked up" and moved to KFOS, that's the official order and that's when you get an ETA.

Another way of asking is how many orders and in the queue ahead of you.

Thanks for the info arattle; I thought I had asked exactly that in my original text to the salesman, but I'll try again!

I just like being able to confirm for myself that something was both entered at all, but also entered correctly. I know I won't get that here, and my ability to "trust the process" is being a bit stretched.

His response to my question of how many orders are in front of me: "no way of knowing".

I was getting similar responses from the dealership so I ended up switching to a different one that was a lot more upfront with all of this info and told me exactly where I would be in line even prior to submitting my order. Even if you only want to know that it was entered you should be able to get a screenshot or prinout from kdealer with all of the details of the order.

Ask how many orders ahead of you at that dealer.

@dhyams Which dealer did you order it from?

Bramlett, Decatur, AL

He may have no way of knowing but someone at the dealership should. Maybe more specific - "How many orders are in KDealer ahead of mine?". That tells him that you know what you are talking about. Also, you should ask for a screenshot of the actual order to make sure that it was entered correctly.

Same thing happened to me. It’s frustrating, but it worked out for me in the end. He projected a 10-12 month wait and it took 10 months.

10 months? Omg! That's a lot. What model did you get? Ex or SX?

SX with prestige. Everlasting Silver. Seems like I saw a million NF versions while I waited.
