• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey Everyone,

Picking up a single axle travel trailer this weekend. Does anyone have a checklist for towing a travel trailer that they use?

I'm looking at specifics like, which sensors you're disabling or enabling, what drive mode you're in etc.

Let me know what you got, much appreciated!

James

  • Set Smart mode driving
  • Disable Autostart-stop
  • Disable the rear parking sensor
  • Turn off the auto-hold
  • Cruise control: Either don't use the Smart Cruise Control at all or go into settings and change to standard cruise control. I personally don't use cruise control when towing.

Awesome, thank you so much for this. There's a lot more tech involved then I'm used to with this vehicle so I wanted to make sure I get everything. I'm not a big fan of cruise control either and have only used it to see how it works.

With every other vehicle I've ever towed with I've taken it out of overdrive when pulling. Do you folks just pull in drive or one gear down?
