• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So my dealer installed my hitch and harness when I bought my Telly. When they did, they did not reinstall the under cover on the driver side behind the wheel (that covers the harness connections). The dealer service manager came back and stated:

I have confirmed the inner panel has to be removed to install the wiring and module.

It is unable to be reinstalled and there is no “new” panel that will fit that comes with the hitch assembly.

So this is correct and nothing is missing that should be there.

Funny. I sent them a screen cap of the instructions for the hitch showing it going back on, and a picture from another Telly with it in place. No response yet. This should be fun. Not a great start to a dealer that had the potential to earn our service business. Great way to send us elsewhere…

First pic my car, next two are instruction cap and a pic of the cover in place.

Having done this myself with I installed the hitch, it takes perhaps a minute or two to unscrew 2 plastic lock nuts and screw them back. It's there for a reason despite what your told. With that logic anything removed for service should never be replaced

So they are ordering the parts as they threw the originals away. They are sour grapes and still claiming they won’t work though.

:D ahhh yes; the old "No, these parts that we took off your vehicle and that are specified in the parts list and diagram for your vehicle will not work on your vehicle" stance.

Please post updates as this progresses.

Short answer is, we don’t want to have to uninstall and reinstall because we probably also lost those parts.

I guess it’s similar to some dealers either removing or cutting a piece out of the cover that has to be removed (and replaced) when changing the oil.
