• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Welp, I've finally received my EZ Tag. The instructions state to place it a little to the right of and behind the review mirror 4 inches from the top of the windshield. That placed it in the dark pixilated area ( I hope I'm not being too technical for you folks ) behind the mirror. I don't know if the 'dark area' would prevent the tag from being read at the toll booths.

Where have others placed their EZ Tags (toll booth tags)?

Here is a pic of where I put mine. Looking down onto the windshield, from the outside:

So, if I'm seeing this right, you've placed it behind the mirror below the dot-matrixed area. Yes?

Been there for nearly a year. No issues.

I've got the small box and his is how mine looks with a $10 holder.

I stuck mine to the back of the infotainment screen, and got a black silicone cover for it on Amazon. Always hated the white rectangle I could see from across the parking lot....now I forget it's there. Reads perfectly, too.

I am on a different network of roads, but I placed my toll tag in the same location. I do not see it at all when I’m driving.

I also placed it behind the infotainment screen.

Works great. No issues.

That's interesting. So, you didn't stick it on the windshield and then covered it with silicone and it still reads successfully at toll locations? I think that's great and makes me realize I really don't know how this form of communication works. It seems like there's s very strong signal involved(?)

Hi Hill. Do you have a TxTag? Or, something else? I think in the DFW area there is Express Tag. But found it doesn’t matter. Mine works with all of them. At first, I was concerned the chip might be unreadable, but, turned out to be ok.

However, I have had a little trouble, at times, with my garage remote. (Hung on my car visor).

The RF signal slices through the silicone cover just as well as glass....it does not impede the signal at all. The mounting height on Telluride's dash is higher than windshield mounting on most cars, so you're not any farther away from the reader.

Yes TxTag. I know I get charged correctly in DFW and Houston. It sounds like the major toll networks in the state have some sort of reciprocity/interoperability… which is nice so I can avoid installing multiple toll tags on the car.
