• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Someone on a Telluride Facebook group replaced them and spilled the details on how to do it!

Rather simple... grab the handle on the inside of the hatch while open, and twist it back towards you and should reveal 2 screws.. remove the screws and gently pull the panel back which reveals the location of the bulbs..

Thank goodness for this post. The back up lights are by far the worst thing on the Telluride. They are absolutely useless at night and I have to rely on the touchscreen display to guide me. So I am going to immediately replace them with led lights. Thanks again!

Not sure if it’s the picture or what but those seem excessively bright like the lens was busted out or something.

Looks good! Definitely going to look at doing this soon.

mine came in today. having my body shop install these to match my license plate LED's and LED headlights when they install my illuminated door sills and mood lighting next week. they look great.

On that mood lighting let us know if you can control it the same way as the ambient light already in the trim around the car or if it's just a single color etc. Want to know how it works and if it's worth it or not.

it's the OEM factory mood lighting kit that claims to integrate to the LCD the way it does on the SX, so i assume so. i'll keep everyone posted with pics of everything, including what comes in the boxes and what it looks like after installed next week.

Did you have any problems getting the blue pins to line back up (near the light)? They seem way off where everything else lines right back up. I reassembled (ran out of daylight) and there are gaps in that area.

Yes, the fasteners do not line up if you do it the way it is shown in the picture above. The fasteners are really weak. so if you attempt to attach it to the hatch without lining it up, you will deform the fastener making it difficult to get the panel back on flush. I discovered this on one of the fastener so that site has a slight gap. I was able align the other side better by being more careful and patient.

I eventually got them to line up. Basically had to shove one hand in to push the fastener toward the hole, and use my other hand to push the panel in the same direction. It's just strange how off they were while the rest were spot on. Anyways, no more gaps and the reverse lights are nice and bright. The bulbs better last, I don't want to be changing them again anytime soon.

Had the same issue with lining it back up...actually broke one...anyone know where I can buy one? Thanks

For those needing bulb types. The license plate bulbs are 194 and reverse lights are 921. This is the common numbers bulbs go by. I bought Sylvania ZEVO LEDs from Advanced Auto. Had them in my last car and they work great.

Did mine just now. I took the entire panel off making it easier to put back on without having to working about alignment.. 4 screws in total

Figured that way would have been better for reattachment after the fact! Should have let you go first....

Where are the other 2 screws? This sounds a whole lot easier.

The other 2 screws are on each side at the top of the panel. You'll have to pop out the 2 side panels to get to it.

I installed some LED reverse lights now but the issue is that they work when reversing, but when you put back into park or drive, they stay on. They dim and do not shut off. Anyone else have this issue?
