If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just got very lucky as I found a dealer not too far from my home that was selling new Tellurides at sticker minus any incentives (I got a $300 rebate). Other local dealers were $1,000 to $5,000 above MSRP. After talking to one of the Owners, I found out he graduated from the same high school my children graduated from (small world). My vin and sticker just posted last week (Failcat) ETA on my vehicle is 11/28, dealer said many times they are arriving a few days to a week early. My reasons for making this purchase are very simple #1) the Kia Telluride SX is quite a value compared to comparable vehicles, #2) 5 year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty (also the 10 year drivetrain warranty) #3) my trade-in, was 5 years old, GREAT condition, and worth nearly 75% of what I bought it for new, no it was not an exotic car, it was a minivan, that I was able to get a GREAT deal on back in 2017. I'm retired, we travel, just got back from Mt. Rushmore/Devils Tower/Chimney Rock/Monument Rocks and can't wait to head out west, or south, or anywhere. I will report back (with pictures) as soon as I get going with my new "wheels". So happy there is this forum as I was able to become an informed customer making a very smart decesion.

Dang! You may have been in our rear view mirror! We just returned from the exact same trip a month ago.

And, WELCOME!

Btw, which Chimney/ Monuments Rocks? I think there are a few with those places around, but I was specifically thinking of the area in far west Kansas.

Thats a very bold statement! Welcome aboard!

yes, there are two different formations, one is called Castle Rock, the other is called Monument Rocks (both in Kansas) both on dirt roads and that trip convinced me we needed a vehicle with more ground clearance and AWD, just in case. The other formation I mentioned, Chimney Rock, is a spindle rock formation in Western Nebraska, it was a guidance venue for settlers moving across America in the 1800's, impressive to see it, good reason to go back! The dirt roads leading to the Kansas formations were rough, our minivan gave me a couple of nervous moments, but got us through, but, as soon as we got home I started to research a better ride for our next venture-Route 66 from Illinois to California, can't wait to start mapping it out and get going-it'll be in 2022, too late now with Thanksgiving and Christmas getting close. Thank you for your comment.

You certainly know your history. Surprised you did not mention ScottsBluff. Another landmark used by travelers in western Nebraska.

I like Monument Rocks. Kind of like a natural chalk Stonehenge, out there all by themselves. Haven’t been to Castle yet, but I know where it is.

Btw, if you are ever back in the Monument Rocks area, check out Battle Canyon (scene of the last army-native (Northern Cheyenne) battle in Kansas). You may need the extra clearance to get there. Also, nearby, Lake Scott State Park. Near the visitor center you may get a glimpse of an albino bison.

Nice to meet you Shoeman. I get excited when I find someone that knows (and shares) the historical significance behind some of these landmarks.

(Although, full disclosure, in school, I slept through almost every history class I took.)

Oh Katy-Tell:

Scottsbluff was very neat in it's own right, it was kind of a surprise to see how big it was. Had a GREAT meal just a few miles from there at a "sports bar" that was run by a family that supplied all the meats to their place from their ranch. Nice to meet you as well, I really NEVER applied myself in school much, I was interested in making money, having a family, and enjoying life, I can say that I have been blessed in all things important to me and STILL enjoying life. Have a GREAT evening.

If just to see the albino buffalo, we are going to check that and the other suggestions as well. Thanks for the history lesson too!
