Hi- I am a newbie here and in the market for an s trim level, but have been shocked by our local (Florida) Kia dealerships and the 3000-7500 "market value adjustments"...We figured this was covid shutdown related but come to find out this is "normal" for the Telluride..? Disappointing , but searching this forum has shown me it is possible to order so that's renewed hope a little. We love the car and would love to purchase one but feeling discouraged.
So far I've seen nowcar listed on here as an option...any updates on current wait and recent experiences?
I've also seen Muncie listed but with a 6-8 month wait time and 2000 shipping I'm not sure that will work .

Any other options? Flying out to get the car is not an option so hoping to stay local to Florida or to have the car delivered.
Also, any thoughts on whether supply will improve if we wait a few months or is this just the way it is? Thank you!

Yes, see the thread @ruandvpi posted above. I have an order on waitlist with NowCar; but we’re also ordering a SX AWD, which historically is one of the more popular trim levels. So I can’t speak to how long your wait time will be with NowCar for a S trim level. After lots of research, I pretty much gave up on Florida dealers as the majority have a markup or ridiculous mandatory packages (that I’m sorry…I’m paying for the car, the dealership can’t mandate a package for me). I also didn’t want to get to a dealership and then have them spring mandatory extra fees on us ( as is mentioned about one of the dealerships I was researching in the above thread).
There are more dealerships out of state that will order for MSRP and not ridiculous dealer fees (Florida has some of the highest dealer fees). Depending on where you are in FL, driving to NC might not be bad. I’ve heard good things on this forum about Hendrick Kia in Cary, NC. And I believe there are a few in GA.

Thanks for your reply. I did read the above thread and it definitely reinforced what I'm seeing here in the Tampa bay and swfl areas, lots of dealers acting like you are lucky to be paying 5000+ over MSRP 🙄. Have you been happy with nowcar? I'm a little confused on how the financing works with them, they seem to be offering a much higher rate than we qualify for usually. Nathaly wrote me today and thought it would be about 10-12 weeks for the s model. I wasn't sure if that is how it's playing out for others but like you said a little tough to gauge as most seem to be waiting for the sx trim.

I can’t say I’m happy or unhappy with them. Unfortunately I’m on their waitlist to even have an SX potentially ordered. But my husband & I knew that. If she didn’t mention anything about a waitlist, then you would just have that 10-12 weeks to delivery timeframe. I’d ask if there is a waitlist before your order is picked up and how quickly they are getting S trims picked up. Essentially ask if there’s a waitlist prior to that 10-12 wk delivery timeframe. And also ask where you would be on that waitlist.

I ordered mine May 26 and my guy at the dealership in Colorado sent me a message Friday saying my telluride is in. So 5 weeks? Cant wait to get it. Should be in FL by end of the month.

Just to confirm, did you order from Nowcar?

Thanks

I ordered from NowCar mid-April and am currently scheduled for an ETA of 12/12. We decided to stick with NowCar because we had a great price locked in (that they no longer offer). We live in Orlando, so they’ll be shipping it up here from Miami. But they were the best deal we could find in Florida without any dealer fees and included shipping.

If you want to go outside FL, I’d contact Hendricks Kia in Cary, NC. Ivy Johnson is the salesperson I contacted. They sell at MSRP with $699 dealer fee. We would’ve just taken a trip up to NC if we had continued purchase with them. Or have it shipped. Their SX AWD’s usually are delivered in about 5 months, possibly less.

Thank you. I'm in Orlando too :)

If you don't mind me asking what did NowCar quote you on your options? They are quoting me $51,114.20 without any taxes/etc. This is for a Kelluride SX - with SX Prestige, Nightfall, White Pearl Paint. Total after fees is showing $54,687.

Thanks for the info on the Cary dealership, I actually reached out to them today - I infact have work in Cary but they told me they are serving only a few states right now, will revisit their policy later this year.

FYI the MSRP based on my options is $50,005

As I said, we had a discount locked in before they increased prices in late April or May. So our price is actually under MSRP. Our order is SX Everlasting Silver (no up charge for ES), Prestige, Nightfall & Towing with Dune Brown interior (up charge on that). We also added cargo cover, cross bars & wheel locks. So all of that came to a Kia MSRP of $51,125–but our NowCar price is $50,045. That’s not including taxes & registration. NowCar doesn’t charge a dealer fee since everything is online. I’m not sure of the final, out the door cost yet—I couldn’t find in my quick email search but know I have it somewhere.

Unfortunately here in Orlando, we’re stuck going outside of the area to get a good deal. The one nice thing about that price you have from NowCar is that they’ll deliver it right to you included in the price. But I’ve heard several people going to South Dade Kia—they do have some added fees on the MSRP. Or I know i25 Kia in Colorado has a faster delivery but your shipping costs are going to be higher or a super long drive from Denver.

Thanks, good call on locking in that price.

Yeah unfortunately the Cary dealer just closed out of state inquiries otherwise for me that was best bet. I am not in a rush but I feel if I revisit this topic in a few months to buy a car I will have the same type of wait. Hence am thinking of going with Nowcar as based on my reads it does seem to be legit.

That’s too bad Hendricks is stopping out of state orders, but they may have just been overwhelmed. NowCar is definitely legit—if you search for NowCar you’ll see others experiences. Plus I know of at least one person on this forum that recently received their Telly from NowCar. Since you’re a newer member, I’ll see if I can PM you some more info on NowCar.

Did you receive an update yesterday? Are you still on track for 12/12 Delivery?

I was told similar when I picked up in Cary two weeks ago. They told me (someone needs to verify) that they only accept orders from NC, VA, SC and GA. No doubt other dealers that enjoy big markups are not liking Hendricks MSRP ordering (like Paramount KIA in Asheville near where I live with $10,000 markup). I told the Paramount sales rep that I would drive cross country to avoid dealer markup. I enjoy a road trip and was planning to buy from I-25 KIA in Colorado when I found out about Hendricks.
