Better than I ever got in any of my five Sorentos!!

I’m in Canada… my T’Ride has about 2750 kilometres. This week we took our first road trip, approximately 350 kilometres each way, from Muskoka to Niagara and back. And, I was pretty pleased to see the MPGs we got on this trip. 33-35 MPG and ratings of 700 kilometres (430 miles) per tank! At least that is what the computer display says!

ECO MODE, highway driving mostly in CRUISE control (between 80 and about 120 kilometres an hour (75 MPH), where light traffic permitted.
7.9 litres per 100 kilometres (35 MPG)
On the way home, all the same roads (highways 118, 11, 400, QEW) except about 25% heavy, stop and go traffic,
8.5 litres per 100 kilometres (33 MPG)

In the driving mix, I hit some bad traffic (Oakville, Toronto) with a lot of Stop and Go, and there were some very short stints where I may have driven 135 (85 MPH) kilometres (just to get away from the …crowd!! ). ECO MODE was acceptable, I had no performance concerns, or felt compromised at anytime (maybe I’m starting to “grow up”.

We were really impressed when we saw 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres (35 MPG Especially when our previous car topped out at 10.5 litres per 100 kilometres or less than 20 MPG! At best. Way to go KIA!!!!

Picking my Telluride up tomorrow! Curious what gas mileage you all are actually getting versus what’s on the window sticker. If AWD, what mode are you driving in? Thanks!

My odometer is at 4,200 on my Telluride S trim now. You can see (click on for more details) my overall Fuelly stats below. Typically, on highway trips, I'm getting about 26 mpg. I generally keep it at around 75-77 mph.

While some put way more miles than I did on a trip, he’s my one-way so far in the Pacific Northwest. I have a 22’ AWD SXP NF/T Telluride. Most of the drive was highway speeds varying from 55-75mph, with minimal slow traffic around 10-25mph. I had a about 2 pedal to the floor moments but mostly kept the vehicle in adaptive cruise with eco mode. The onboard logic estimates 27mpg. I’ll do the hand math when refuel and plus monitor the mpg on my way back on the return trip.

Your 27 mpg is almost exactly the same as I got (mine was 28 mpg) on a recent 1,800-mile trip from Missouri to Washington state when traveling at 65-75 mph. However, as expected that went down when I set the cruise at 90 mph through parts of Montana on Interstate 90 which has a posted speed limit of 80 mph. It went down to about 20-22 mpg at those speeds.

I'm only on my second tank with most trips being urban stop and go. So low 20s mpg. But took a 200 mile highway road trip yesterday and was pleased with 28.1mpg average according to the trip computer. Grant it the trip was Cincy to Columbus so pretty flat, but I was between 80-82 mph most of the way.

It's a 22EX FWD, and I keep it on smart mode for now. Overall quite pleased with fuel efficiency.

IMO, there are two types of fuel economy, those reported from the dash display, and those taken by comparing actual fuel purchased versus miles driven.

I got over 24 MPG out of my first tank of gas (fuel purchased versus miles driven), which was a pleasant surprise for me.

Thanks and really good point. I do the same and on my first tank (I've only filled up once ) - the two calcs were within 0.2 MPG assuming Kia filled the tank and didn't top-off. Will track going forward for sure and report back if actual vs. computer vary significantly.

For reference, can I ask how much of difference you're seeing?

I drive on the highway every day and over 25000 miles so far, I am getting around 26 mpg. More in summer less in winter. Average around 67 mph, FWD.

So after a second fill up which had a lot more highway driving, the computer estimate was about 1.1 MPG higher than what I actually got based off of gallons used. So maybe highways miles do cause a slightly overestimate? Although obviously need more than one tank to confirm.

I'm not sure I will track too closely in the future as I don't sweat too much about this stuff, but unsurprisingly the actual value likely will vary a bit from the computed estimate.

Same here. I've been using Fuelly and I'm usually a couple MPGs lower than what the car tells me.

I'm using My Car, which also tracks oil changes and other maintenance, but there are many other free apps that work well.

Well, I do use one for some time, and I don't have a regular number that I can give you. This depends if I travel just in my area or around the coumtry. If you need a better reference and more professional information you should see some special platforms. When I was searching for the best model for me, this site was extremely helpful for me: 10 Best Gas Mileage Class C RVs – Crow Outdoors. Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but, you can use it, at least, to create an image or idea.

Thats good..
Im like 80/20 city/ expressway...
Most of the time in eco mode as well... average about 22-23... also i use the highway driving assit on the street to help when im commuting to work less stress..

Does ECO mode allow the rpms to drop to idle when going down hill (coasting)? My Genesis GV80 will coast in ECO mode which helps economy some.
