• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... One of the few minor things that bug me with the KT, is the low fuel warning comes a little late for my liking.
This particular time, it came it at the 25 mile range, and I made it with approximately 9 miles to spare.

If you filled up immediately when the light came on, you’d notice you have about two gallons left. That’s way more than 25 miles. Range of 0 on the display is not actually completely out.

Yep. I filled up just a hair shy of 17 gal.

Despite saying 0 miles left, my car is difficult to force 16 gallons in it so there is 2 gallons still in there for an 18 gallon tank. Not sure if this is just an "unusable" amount but its silly if in theory you still have 50-60 miles available. 50-60 miles of the most concerning miles you will ever drive! o_O

Sounds like Kia is trying to be “better safe than sorry” with this warning, so they don’t get people running out of gas too often.

18 gallon tank huh? That’s gonna be fun to fill when I get mine in Feb/Mar next year. My current car, a Honda Civic, gets around 35mpg, and I usually only fill up around 10 gallons each time. 🤓

Tank capacity is 18.8 gallon. Most, if not all cars have a reserve when the gas gauge is at empty. I assume it's by design so even if the gauge is not accurate, you don't run out of gas. All my previous cars have a reserve and I have never filled any of them to capacity. My previous large GMC had a 31 gallon tank and still have 4 gallon left at empty. Just need to learn what is the reserve for your vehicle so you don't get panicky.
