2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

How do you check the car has vibration or not? If it has it definitely will show if i hit 60-75 mph or sometimes it's there and sometimes not.
Can we check before purchasing it make sure?
I have been researching it for a while so far 2022 vibration complaints are not obvious. What I have learned that vibration could be there on the drive test or appear later, there is no easy way to protect yourself from it. It is a risk but looks like small. If we believe all automotive media and Consumer Reports these truck is perfect, and I mean perfect and vibration affects so few vehicles that it really is a non-issue but as someone said here, it is a non-issue until it is you, well said.

Thanks, i will drive and see and most likely nothing will show of course and after purchasing it will be there.
Also i hope this was a broad issue that Kia will hear enough from customers and can get on it and try to fix it, instead few unlucky ones and they have no place to go this point, i feel their pain and frustrations. I hope i won't be one of them

Placed order for EX FWD with 18" wheels. Can't upgrade to 20" or SX with bench seat. Can upgrade to AWD with Bench seat. Still thinking about changing it to AWD. Is it better to stick to FWD if you are in down south (TX). I can use savings towards buying better tires when replacing factory tires.

Well, did you have AWD (or FWD) during that arctic blast last February? How did you do on the roadways? I mean the DFW area does get icy (and dicey) conditions in the winter time.

Betting on these odds is a pretty good bet.
Sounds like you are ready for the worst case scenario.

Good luck.

My car is Fit FWD. I drove to grocery store for 4 miles on local road. It did pretty fine as every one going slow. Driving on big texas bridges could have been a problem in TX with FWD i guess. Typically schools and offices will be closed for any bad weather like this.

I am also checking out new Sienna which has e-awd. Unfortunately all Toyota dealers are bad. No one is even ready to place order for MSRP. It is another 500lbs heavier. Can not get bench seat and AWD with a leather Trim.

Do you think, i should change my order to AWD considering Telluride is very big vehicle.

FWD will be fine.
For most people (in most professions) FWD should be enough. For Texas, last February was probably the worst you will see.

That is once in a car life sort of event. 1" Snow is also pretty rare in DFW.

Just came back from the dealership and all looking very good.
Before purchasing EX AWD i drove the vehicle a little and hit 60-80mph and felt nothing about vibration, i didn't do extensive driving and that short drive was enough for me :) I wanted this vehicle so bad.
Back to dealer and purchased the vehicle, from there over 100 miles home, i drove between 60-80mph speed variations and no vibrations at all. I was so happy that no vibration issues. Telluride looks, drive, feels in every way is just PERFECT and also noticed how nice and quiet cabin was.
This vehicle is a winner for long time to come.
Pictures will come soon :) (Dark moss)

I felt my vibration on my 2022 the moment I was on the highway over 65 mph. If you can test drive on a highway and get to 65-80 mph and it’s smooth I think that’s a good sign.

I accidentally posted my reply in the wrong place. I felt my 2022 telluride vehicle vibrate the very first drive home. I’m not sure if everyone had this experience. If you can test drive at highway speeds and it’s smooth that’s a very good start.

I have the same vibration turing problem, I feels like when your driving a 4wd truck on dry pavment. I understand the AWD drive is suppose to accomidate and manage the power to the front and rear wheels but it feels jerky while turning around a corner both left and right. My dealer hasn't a clue, anybody have a solution

I’m still in the middle of my journey here with my 22’ and the dealership mechanics. It’s difficult for them because they have not been given any warning or instruction from Kia Headquarters. They are all on their own until they have to eventually wait for the regional repair approval departments to assist. That’s where we are now.

Is your vibration issue when you drive 60-75 mph? That’s my issue specifically.

Back in this thread there is mention of drive shaft being a possible culprit as well as the TSB about this problem from the similar vehicle, the Hyundai Palisade. Kia has not issued a TSB yet for Telluride AWD.

You may have to read through a few of these posts or someone may have the quick link for you. I’m sorry this happened.

So I'm here because I'm in the Tellyvibe group. I got my car in March. On the drive home (all highway) no issues. I want to say a week later.. On my way to take my kids to school, it started to vibrate at about 68mph. It was so bad I actually was like woah! It did diminish and subsequently stopped. It still happens to this day but not as violent. I have found that it will only do it for about 10 mins at that speed then stop. I have also found that it only happens on my first drive of the day. I've read all the pages of this thread. It's there anyone who is experiencing what I am? (Does it for 10 mins, stops, not consistent (ie. Only first drive of the day)

So I'm new here. With a 2022 SXP Nightfall with AWB.

In addition to a front drivers side rattle at low speeds and what sounds like a grinding wheel bearing/hub sound fro the front, my Telluride also vibrates at highway speeds.

From 68ish and up I feel an extreme vibration in the steering wheel. I see the HUD shaking. The passenger seat shaking, the driver's side mirror shaking. The steering wheel isn't shaking left to right like with a balancing issue. It pulsates like mack massager or the active lane assist steering wheel alert. There are even times the lane assist alert goes off and I could it even tell it was vibrating because the steering wheel was already vibrating.

It's hard to explain, and the dealer thinks I'm crazy since I can't really explain it correctly. It doesn't feel like the tires are out of balance...it feels like the entire front of the car shakes.

The ride is not smooth by any means. It really feels like you're riding on a gravely road the entire time at highway speeds.

The dealer road force balanced the tires and replaced 3 of them with new tires. They did NOT RFB the 3 new tires. I don't know why.

Please tell me if I'm crazy here, but I think the vibration gets worse the warmer the car gets.

Additionally, they stated the the rattle coming from the front drivers side end of the car, that the shop foreman clearly heard, was the high pressure fuel pump. I was pissed. I know the ticking/knocking sound of the GDI fuel pump and this was not it.

We just made the drive from FL to SC for the holidays and my arms still feel like they are shaking. We'll drive back this weekend and I'll send it back to be dealer.

Please tell me there's a fix for this. please tell me that you all have found some type of resolution.

Advise would be to hire an independent certified automotive mechanic with calibrated/approved Pico tester. Have them ride with you and log the vibrations. Best to find out how Kia demands that Pico sensors mounted, often it is front seat mounts but could be elsewhere. That will give you records that will prove you are not "crazy". Of course, most likely, Kia would say that Kia does not care what was measured by "someone", but it most likely would force them to record with a Pico. They may or may not share Kia's measurements with you but records would be created.

All of the above will most likely fail because - someone has to ride above posted speed limit of 55-65 to take measurement and do dealers use that excuse... they do, unless you are in the state where 75 MPH speed limit is common.

Regardless, I feel your pain, I lost a boatload of money on two GM vehicles with vibrations on idle because GM used every possible excuse to weasel their way out of warranty repairs (they knew they could not fix it, it was a design problem) but bulk of drivers are not sensitive to vibrations and consider shaky idle to be normal. GM sent two lawyers to fight me instead of trying to fix the vibration. If you have a good dealer behind you, cherish it, good dealers are hard to come by these days.

What's odd is that this is my wife's car. She never notices anything wrong. Never complains. The wheels can be falling off and she'd still say the car drives great.

But oddly enough, after 600 mikes she brought up the "honey, something is wrong with the car" conversation. So for her to say it's present, means a lot.

I just told her that there's a whole thread on this and we're not the only ones. I don't know if I want to fight this for a year. At 600 miles, I could probably sell it for what I paid.

She's thinking on it.

We drive back from SC to FL on Saturday and it'll go back to be dealer next week.

I was really hoping that folks on here have gotten some type of repair or solution after 2 years. It appears that Kia is no different than GM.

Are these vibrations problem only in cold areas during winter. I am thinking of switching my FWD order option to AWD. Everyone is going with AWD option here.
