• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Why don't I see more Tellurides on the road?

The wife and I were talking about how popular the Tellurides and even Palisade are and it occurred to us that we don't see that many on the road. Might be something obvious but we didn't come up with anything other than they aren't producing enough, but that's hard for me to believe given how popular they are, unless they really are an underproduced vehicle. Any explanations?

It's only the third year of production...you see Pilots and Highlanders from 15 years ago, even though they look different you still register "Pilot" or "Highlander" in your head....

There are about 250k Tellurides in the US, 5000 per state on average, so like 20-25 per county? I see more Explorers parked at my local police station than my entire county's Telluride population.

That explanation makes total sense. I guess I underestimate how many highlanders & pilots I see that are actually older models, so you're right, it's not a fair comparison to make.

Yes, can not compare to car models that exist more than four years. However, can compare productions to Subaru Ascent or BMW X7. Don’t see that many of those.

My neighborhood has three in about 75 houses.

The were all up in Big Bear, CA last week.

There just aren't that may of them out on the road yet relative to other models of SUVs that have higher annual production numbers and have been on the market way longer. Ford has sold over 8 million explorers since 1990 and sells over 200,000 explorers a year. Kia has sold about 225,000 Tellurides total since 2019 and "only" makes 100,000 a year.

From what I can tell from last I checked the Telly-Stats website through failcat, I have one of only eight Everlasting Silver with Nightfall sold in Oregon since the vehicle went into production! I love that this car and especially my configuration is still somewhat rare relative to other SUVs.

Give it 8 more years and there will be nearly a million Tellurides on the road if not more.

Maybe the current state of the world, I have my SXP almost a year and a half and only 6000 miles on it.
p.s. still havent put on my 47 dollar side steps.

Owning since 04-2019 and 20k miles only

P.S: I installed my $47 side step same day I got them

I see enough of them that I would not quantify it as anything abnormal here in W PA. Seeing the car has a short production run combined with the crawling production isn't helping.

It may depend on where you live. Here in the DC/Northern Virginia area I see them every day.

That's fair. I'm in SE Texas and I've seen probably 2 or 3 over a few weeks or months!

I'm in NOVA too, there are a lot around here. I hope they didn't pay the $10,000 markups from these shady dealers.

I hear you. I bought from Parsons in Winchester. MSRP. No tricks. Great dealership.

I’m starting to see quite a few here in NJ. But I have yet to see another Nutley Kia license plate bracket, so they likely all got blasted for a markup…

I see a lot of them. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind it at all if I didn't see any more than I see now.

When dealers are marking them 20% over MSRP you won't see as many on the road :)

Here in Cincinnati, Ohio I see about 5 per day now and I don't even drive that much. Might just be the area I live in.

What? Dealer plate bracket? I lose that monstrosity and any dealer stickers the moment I am handed the fobs.
