• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just wanted to share my experience with Discount Tire today in case anyone is in the same position. I’ve shopping/obsessing over new wheels since I put my order in, and over that time it seemed like Discount Tire’s website showed fewer and fewer wheels that fit the Telluride, but plenty of options if you searched the size without a vehicle. So I drove over to my local store and talked to an actual human about it, and his screen told him the wheels I wanted would absolutely fit and that they had no objections to mounting them, couldn’t explain why the website was limiting options so much.

TL;DR: Don’t let the website discourage you, talk to someone at a store.

I've used Discount Tires for all my vehicles for the last 20 years. They always go out of their way to get the tires and wheels that are best for my vehicle.

Yeah I’ve had good luck with my local store, got my CX-5 setup through them. It was the store that recommended I order the wheels now even though I’m at least a month out because of the number of wheels going to back order status.

Just be careful to verify hole pattern matches the Telluride's. Not all 5-bolt pattern wheels are the same. And by the time you get your vehicle, it may be too late to return the wheels.

I've ordered 2 sets of tires from them since they opened a shop close to my business. Great service and will match any price from any major seller.

Valid point. What was really weird about the website experience was other wheels from the same manufacturer (Drag) with all the same specs (20x8.5, +38, 5 on 114.3) we’re deemed a good fit on a Telluride but my chosen wheel was not. Worst case I have them test fit a wheel before they mount a tire on it, should still be returnable at that point.

Do you really want to order wheels for a car you don't have yet? Your delivery date could change and I would want to see the car is free of any issues like vibration first.

It’s a gamble, no doubt. But I want to get the stock stuff off and sold before I put any miles on them, and so many of the wheels I wanted are now on back order, I wanted to secure these when I had the chance.

Hey MSPTom:

Hope you're enjoying your new Wolf Gray with your new Rims. I've got a similar scenario that you did. My "go to" is also Discount Tire, and also noticed that their online website is not close to being accurate. I did have a good conversation with my local guy...and the website to "go to" (which is their Distributor" is Wheel Pros. Wheel Pros website is accurate and extremely helpful. That's what Discount Tire uses for accuracy.

You had indicated:

Bolt Pattern:
5 x 114.3

Size and Offset:
20 x 8.5 38MM

My local guy at Discount Tire says:
20 x 8.5 35MM

Don't understand why two different Discount Tire's (they're all company owned and not a franchise) say 38MM and 35MM?

Anyways....did your 38MM fit just fine?

They fit perfectly! Just short of being flush with the body (with a 255/50 tire). Really changed the look of the vehicle I think. Worth it!

They are a great company. They are by far the most admired tire re-sellers in the country. Still privately owned, and like you mentioned, they take care of their customers before and after the sale. Agreed!

Now you need to paint those calipers
Thought about it, I generally love that look but I’m trying to keep it subdued.

@MSPTom -- OK, you have a Telluride; I have a Telluride. You have a CX-5; I have a CX-5. You are in the Twin Cities; I am in the Twin Cities. You bought from Lupient; I bought from Lupient. Are you me?

I thought I knew who I was this morning, but now I’m having doubts…
I actually traded my CX-5, and I’m still constantly reaching for a volume knob in the wrong place. Habits 🤷🏼
