If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Got my Dealer notification today that my Telluride has an ETA.!

🤖 AI Summary

No AI summary has been generated for this thread yet.
That's probably the same number that I used. They didn't even ask me for an order number, I just gave them that if it would help make it easier to track it down.

Ya I would say wait a month and ask the dealership if they have any info, and if they don't then maybe try the kia Georgia plant email after a little bit, they also have a phone number on the contact us section on that website you could try.

I am not sure about how the order system works right now, but from reading posts on this forum from a year ago, they say that when you go to a dealer and place your order, it goes into the "kdealer" system which is basically a wait list of all the orders the dealership has taken. Then once a month, the "KFOS" system opens up in the middle of the month and allows dealerships to place orders into it from their kdealer list and they go in the order of customers on the kdealer list. So if they only can order 4 of the trim level you order and you are 5th in line, your order wont get into KFOS for that month and it will have to wait till the middle of next month. Since you ordered on 2/18, I would be under the impression that the earliest it could get into KFOS would be middle of march.

This could be completely wrong in 2022, and/or you might already know all of this from seeing other posts on here about the order process, but this is how I understand it from reading those posts. Your dealer probably won't have an update until at least mid/end March.

At least the wait allows you to research and order a bunch of accessories.! Haha, the first week I placed the order for the car I already ordered all the floorliners and LED headlamp bulb replacements and a bunch of other car light replacements. They have been sitting under a bed and in a box ever since awaiting the arrival.! Someday it will come. ;)
Ha. Yeah the order process is what I’m most curious about. People say there is a list, but then again my dealer said my trim (S) is a significantly shorter wait. So there can’t be one list the dealer is burning down if that is the case. Another dealer I have an order in with said they enter orders every Tuesday. What I don’t know is at what point does Kia actually know that my order exists. And how does trim level play into this as far as estimated order turn around.

Ya I was told basically the same, that an S should arrive a lot sooner than an EX or SX and with less features/packages, the sooner it should arrive, which was one of the reasons I stuck with the S level. I even was told the color choice can make your order take longer and the fact that I wanted deep moss, they said that should arrive faster than one in gravity Grey or a more popular color.

From what I understand, the kia plant doesn't know anything about the order until it is into the KFOS system and it gets picked up or allocated so not sure if your dealer meant they can enter into KFOS every Tuesday now or what. The only info I have on the order process was from reading posts on this forum but all were about a year or older so the system might be different in 2022.

I was pleasantly surprised to see an email for the Telluride I ordered back on 1/2/22 has an ETA and is scheduled to arrive on 3/30.! Couldn't be happier that I finally know it is actually getting made. It is an S AWD Deep Moss/black interior with Tow Hitch. It is not in failcat as far as I can tell yet. I was getting a bit concerned it wouldn't show up in time, I am leaving this city end of April but luckily it sounds like it will be here before I depart. How many have experienced delays from the ETA.? The salesman said it could arrive earlier or later. I am in South Florida, so fairly close to the GA plant. I also was concerned if it didn't get picked up soon, that I might be auto upgraded to a 2023 model, and I have seen only some leaked photos but I do not think I like the vertical headlight change. Hard to tell through all the blackout coverings on the spy photos.

It’s been 115 days for me and they haven’t called or anything. Guess will be calling today. Mine is a SX moss green with butterscotch interior.

The wait for SX trim is usually much longer than the wait for the S trim.

Glad to hear some are getting their vehicles that soon. I placed my order late Nov 2021 and still don't have an ETA. Supposedly it had already been picked up by KFOS when I checked in early Feb.

Ya unfortunately I have heard the average wait for the SX trim is much longer than the S like others have mentioned. I have a friend in the Reno area that ordered an SX back in October or November ( same color as my S coincidentally ) and still has heard nothing, and it seems like the average wait is 8 - 10 months for an SX. But that is just guessing from what I have read on the forum.

I'm not sure what area you are in, but I was able to track down at least a half dozen EX and SX models that were available or on their way to dealerships that were not already sold to customers within a 200 mile radius of where I live in South Florida, I was looking for alternate options in case mine wasn't going to be arriving any time soon and I ended up having a little extra money, so was debating going up to an EX or SX, but all the dealerships were charging way over MSRP for their cars. However you might be able to track one down on failcat that is assigned to a dealership and get lucky and find a dealer that is not going crazy with their "market adjustment" price.

I ordered through Beavercreek OH, I’m not even from Ohio but they gave us MSRP. I tracked it on failcat and they said they’ve never heard of that and it’s not a reliable source. Had no clue what I was talking about and said they know just as much info as us and if they hear anything they’ll call. But clearly it was the same dealership, order date, exact match of trim, interior/exterior color on failcat.

It seems failcat has been showing more SX than anything else. Maybe the do the builds in rotating batches based on model? There are probably so many variables at play that any trend we try to deduce is probably futile. Lol

Ha ya one dealership was shocked that I was telling them vin numbers of specific cars I was tracking down and said they didn't even have that car in their system yet but then when they searched, they found it as an incoming vehicle.
You could use the dealer code of the place you ordered from on failcat to see if they have any other cars coming in before yours that match the specs tou want and call them and ask if they are already sold or will be available for purchase. If you find one that is on the way and they will still charge msrp, maybe you can grab one before yours is scheduled to arrive.

Historically, based on what I've seen in the couple years I've been on the forum, the average wait time for an S order is around 3 months while the SX is around 8. Sounds like SX orders are taking longer nowadays but I've seen them range from 2-15 months. Two months is likely a match to an incoming allocation or someone who backed out with the same car.

I don't recall hearing of anyone waiting more than 6 months for an S. That's why I say you can't compare the wait times between SX and lower trims. Unless you ordered a low trim from a dealer that gets very few allocations, you'll likely get a lower trim much faster than the average SX.

You could enter that dealer code into failcat to search what inventory they have on the way, find matching vin's for cars that you would be willing to accept and call them to ask if those specific cars are already sold or would be available once they arrive. I found many that way, but each dealer was charging between 4400 and 15k over msrp for the ex and sx's they had coming in that were not already sold. One dealer said they would charge 3k over msrp but that I needed to have a trade in for them, so I did, not the flashiest car but currently selling for around 12-13k in the market, they offered 1k. So I laughed and politely declined the offer and am patiently awaiting my S....

click on the stats tab in failcat and you can sort by attributes - you can see that the factory cycles through trims in batches - you can see the frequency spike based on model every two weeks or so
