Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... That is what I was told by a dealer in the Upstate of South Carolina. No orders until September. Yes it would be helpful if a dealer could verify on the site.

Just made an order on 6/24 for an SX. Although, I do not have a lot of confidence in its arrival.
Might depend on what people are defining as "orders" vs. "leads". Maybe some sales people are taking names and specifics on a wish list then scouring for canceled orders to see if one frees up and then trying to claim it for a customer?
I heard from a sales guy that nearly every one that is not on order that is scheduled to arrive regardless of trim is getting sold before it hits the dealer.

I have heard similar stories as well! We were lucky enough to test drive an SX on Saturday, if i knew the likelihood of us getting our order i would have probably purchased that one!
As far as our "Order", we sat down with the Sales Manager and he inputed the Trim, Color, Interior, and Ad-Ons that we requested on Kia's Site. He put my husbands name, Phone number and email in the form along with the car details and submitted it to Kia. He showed us where it populated in the list of requests, and then showed us once it gets accepted where it goes, and at what point it gets a VIN, and then the whole ETA's and such. It felt more like an order than a lead.... One of the first people we talked to definitely was doing the Lead thing. He asked what we were looking for and gave us the cars that were coming in soon.
Im still just so unsure! This whole process is crazy!

I spoke with a sales mgr a couple days ago and he described the exact same process for a SX. If i could just decide on a color. The decision is really fricking with me!

Sounds like my exact experience. One dealer was just trying to secure my future business it seemed. The other one I sat down with me and did the exact same process as you. Okay! You have just given me so much comfort hearing that’s the same experience as yours and you got a VIN! Sounds like I just need to calm down and let the process work out
When did you make your order? And how long was it before it got accepted?
From what I have read, if you got your VIN it’s probably only 3-4 weeks before you get yours! CONGRATS! Let us know when you get it! What trim/color did you order?

Picking a color was so hard! I originally went in to order the Moss, but the car i test drove was black and it was beautiful!!!! I went back and forth forever before i made my order.... I decided on the MOSS w/Butterscotch, AWD with Tow.
Which combos are you thinking about?

Here in Canada, if the process is at all similar, I was told it could take about two months to get a VIN. To get around the whole delay due to Nappa leather, Kia just added another trim level here. Our top trim was SX Limited(prestige) which came with everything including nappa. Now they've added SX Limited +nappa with a note that it will be available for future. Now the SX Limiteds will come without nappa leather until they sort out the shortage.Okay! You have just given me so much comfort hearing that’s the same experience as yours and you got a VIN! Accessories - crossbars, mats, mudguards, illuminated scuff plates.
Placed 1st week in June, accepted real time at the dealership that day. Got a VIN on June 21st. They emailed me the window sticker. I know it was my specific order because I had a few accessories that don't seem to come from Kia unless they are ordered for a customer (crossbars and illuminated scuff plates). I'm going to email the dealer tomorrow on an ETA. I'll post an update whenever I have one. But I was just like you....... Very skeptical and still hunting for the vehicle elsewhere until I got that VIN
That EXACT same package minus AWD. My wife and i sat in one just like it and absolutely loved the butterscotch interior. We also really liked the moss exterior in person. The single reason we havent ordered that exact ride is that we only saw it in overcast weather and all the customer pics I see now the green looks brown which i dont love.
That being said I feel like thats what we end up with. Moss or black with butterscotch.
Can you tell me. Does the moss look more brown in overcast conditions or in direct sun? I have yet to see a customer pic where the green shows anything like the Kia promos.

Yeah the Moss does look that color in darker weather. In some lighting it even looked black, which I didn’t mind!
but the greener shade is the best for sure. Black with butterscotch is supper nice!!!! I have photos of the one we test drove! It was super tempting!

Awesome! What a great turnaround for you! Definitely let us know when you pick up your car! I’m sure it’s all legit since you have a VIN.
I too have been looking for my car and the only place I’ve found the same build locally they are selling 10k over MSRP. So I’ll just wait for mine to come..... hopefully.
