• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... They finally did a TSB to address this issue. 👏👏👏

And we know that 22's aren't affected (as well as some late production 21s)....good to get confirmation on that.

Not so sure about that. I’ve got 1,600 miles on my ‘22 and there is a noticeable vibration in the driveline. It’s been there since I got it, and it’s continued after changing the wheels and tires. I have a service appointment April 11th to have it looked at. I had a similar problem with a 2011 Fusion that was cured when they replaced the awd coupling.

Less than 4000 miles on my 22 awd sx and also vibrating. Most between 50 to 60 mph. Just got back from first highway florida trip of 2200 miles. Did it all way. Calling for appt. This week.

Update on my 22 awd sx. Back from dealer. All 4 tires from factory out of balance from .75 oz to 2.75 per tire. Rides now like new. Feels tighter even. Glad easy fix.

My 22 is and so far tires, new propeller shaft and still vibration and back in shop with less 1500 miles

Same with my 22. They balanced tires and replaced the propeller shaft and now back in shop

I visied my third kia dealer at the suggestion of the KIA advanced support rep. Service manager was determined to find the reason for the vibration. I have 21000 miles now. I purchased new tires elsewhere and had them by the service department. It is still vibrating at highway speeds! I am waiting to hear back from the rep again. When will KIA solve this problem? I also replaced my ac display that was failing.

Did they perform a road force balance? I had it done after a regular wheel balance had made some improvement on the vibration. The road force balance did the trick.

Unfortunately, my MY20 is doing this at 64k miles. I had it in for service (oil change) and they diagnosed my vibration issue as the AWD coupling needing replaced. Part ordered and installed last week. Commutes to and from work following the install of the new coupling did relieve the vibration on turns, but I still get a difficult to repeat vibration on straights. Seemingly random.

The only common denominator of when it occurs is driving some time at highway speeds in excess of 65MPH or shortly after. Before the coupling change it happened almost every time at exactly 20-25 min into driving. Not sure how to make it more repeatable. I do have a video from the morning after the install capturing audio of the vibration, but as I understand it; the technician needs to witness the issue before a warranty repair is made.. so not sure what to do since they cannot get it to act up.

Is there a chance that I also need the propeller shaft that is mentioned in the bulletin? The way it reads, that should have been replaced first, no?

it's not (edited) just the dealer tech that needs to witness it, they have to go through the Kia HQ engineering tech dept (whatever they call it) to get warranty approval. I fought this for 8-9 months with them and got nowhere. It's like banging your head agaisnt a wall. Regarding the propeller shaft, it depends what Kia HQ directs the dealer to replace, if they don't feel it's necessary they won't direct them to or approve it to happen

I see. Unfortunately my dealer was unable to repeat the vibration. The technician drove it home that night and back and claims it still didn’t happen. It happens everyday for me in my 60+ minute commute, but I understand they don’t have hours to just drive around either. They were willing to drive it again the next night, but I just picked it up. I guess I’m left to wait until something catastrophic fails and then deal with it. In the interim I’m going to make sure I’ve gotten another wheel alignment (last was about 9 months ago), have Discount Tire inspect my tires again and get it all documented. That’s their suspicion atm

My front pads just entered the yellow, but otherwise passes the inspection and everything including all fluid exchanges are up to date.

Kia kept blaming my tires for being faulty, even with only 10k miles on them. So I bought 4 brand new Micheline tires, they stilled blamed the tires. It's not your tires or the alignment. There is something wrong with their components involved with the driveshaft and AWD coupling and more. It'll be an ongoing headache for you until like you said it becomes catastrophic....we just decided to cut our losses and move on.

The first SXP we had, did not have these issues. Unfortunately, I don't think their production tolerances are as tight as other vehicle OEM's.

That was my thinking, if it was the tires or alignment the vibration should happen all the time or much more frequently. My tires are also new, and I mean they are the Michelin Primacy Tour (stock) ones anyway. So not much to blame other than the dealer not having record of the new tires, alignment, and sometimes a rotation; because I opted to go to Discount Tire.

But all documentation has been provided to them. So basically, I feel like they think I’m crazy lol

Same thing over here. We bought new tires...it is still vibrating and shaking the whole car. It usually happens at high speeds but is not constant. Sometimes it lasts along time, then goes away and comes back 20 - 30 min later. We notice it more on the freeway and especially when we have longer road trips. It is scary!
