• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone considered or looked in to adding a turbocharger to their telluride?

Admittedly I don't know a whole lot about adding this sort of modification though I do have an understanding of how it all functions.

Any ideas on how feasible something like this would be? Potential power gain? Too risky to the drivetrain maybe with the added boost?

Please share any thoughts or info you may have on such a mod!

Haven't seen anything in the market specific to the Telluride or the 3.8L engine shared with Hyundai.

I did find that K&N just this month released a cold air/high flow filter system which will give a mild torque and HP boost. Performance Air Intake System.

Cheers

Yeah I saw that too while looking for an air filter. Might have to snag that and install it some time.

I"ll post what I discover when my kit arrives and I install it. For me the only issues have been transition between 2nd and 3rd gears. Highway performance is bloody spectacular even with 6 passengers and luggage.

Anything is feasible with enough $$.

Honestly, no chance this is worth it (unless you have tons of money burning a hole in your pocket and just really want a T/C Telly). If you wanted speed you would probably be better off with a 2nd/3rd vehicle.

Just adding the T/C with the manifold, injectors, ECU reprogramming (or standalone), fuel pump, exhaust would be a hefty time/$ expense. Then you have the drivetrain and the engine internals and how well they are built with withstand the added power. And finally, potential reliability issues related to taking a N/A car and adding FI to it for which it was never designed to do. It just a can of worms.

You can chip tune your vehicle for about 30% more power, and i believe Rentech sells a supercharger that's compatible
