  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I just ran a pretty thorough gauntlet of dealerships in the central FL area (Tampa, Orlando, up to Coral Springs) and everything is marked up $5-7k, some more like $10k Ended up buying used 2020 with 25k miles, SX trim, AWD w/ Presitge (butterschotch leather) & towing. Listed for 46, I paid $43k. Found it using Edmunds. In this totally f'd up market, I'm pretty happy.

Congratulations! And welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, it is what it is right now with this market. And the KT is the hot ticket in town.
All that matters is that you’re happy 😊. Cheers!

Thanks! The deal felt even sweeter when I looked in the rearview mirror and couldn't even see the mistake known as the Honda Odyssey anymore! 136k miles on that Ody and it needed a new transmission and a fair amount of suspension work. I will never buy anything made by Honda again in my entire life.

Good luck with the new ride!

Did you contact South Dade Kia? That's who I ordered my loaded SX with... they are way down at the very south end of Miami.

And yes... everybody else in central FL is insane with their markups.

I did not, I certainly wish I had found this forum first, if only to focus the search and save time. I contacted so many other dealers and they were all doing the same thing. Some markups were obvious, they literally said "market adjustment $5,000" and others were more discrete, like charging $900 for document processing. I slogged through a lot of dealers (thank God for Apple's email address spoofing feature because I signed up for a lot of dealer mailing lists).

Ultimately I'm happy because I think I got a fair deal (relative to this market) on a very nice SX. The dealer I purchased from includes a lifetime nationwide powertrain warranty as long as you follow the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual so I even managed to find an option that rivals Kia's powertrain warranty in a used vehicle.
