• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Had this on the list of things they wanted to do in today’s service… Performance oil service - recommended every 18,000km. ”Restores power and protects your engine from harmful deposits left from oil breakdown.” Its $99. The Telluride has 15,000KM on it and is a couple years old. I’m curious as I worry about warranty voiding as well. Is this really a thing?

It’s really a thing. A thing called Marketing to drum up business. There’s no obligation to even take your vehicle in for service if you do it yourself according to schedule and keep receipts if something were to happen.

I’m going to be very careful what I agree/don’t agree to in the future. They caught me in a rush. I questioned them on it but in the end caved. Lesson learned.

So what exactly do they do for $99?

To be honest, I didn't ask when I picked it up. I just wanted to leave and try not to be angry at my own foolishness.

The other poster gave me a good idea. I'm going to get my hands on a maintenance schedule and probably look to do some of it elsewhere (assuming its even needed) and of course keep the receipts. My concern has been around warranties.. My other car is out of warranty and there's this other mechanic I see for that.

FYI...just in case you didn't know.
