If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I ordered a SX FWD from Huffines McKinney (TX099) in early November 2021 and was told it would be 4-6 months wait. On June 17 (7.5 months), my dealer said there were still 4 SX FWDs ahead of my order at his dealership. I haven't seen a SX FWD show up for that dealer on Failcat since 5/25, but they're getting lots and lots of SX AWDs.

My question is should I just give up on an SX FWD and order an AWD? We went FWD because we figured we didn't need AWD and it would save a couple thousands dollars. But in the end, we feel like it's making us wait significantly longer to get our car.

Don't order anything. How much more evidence do you need that this process is completely unpredictable at best, and broken at worst? A wait of eight months has yielded nothing so far; why would you risk doing that to yourself again?

Buy what exists -- what you can find now. (Yes, probably an AWD.) Even if your search fails repeatedly, in the end it will succeed far more quickly than any new order would be delivered.
