Correct. That was one of the features of the most current update.I just put in the new update and updated NAV info and now my radio presents no longer show the stations in the tubes.
I don’t use the radio, but I can see why it would be nice to have more than 24 presets, especially if you use SXM. They can add up pretty quickly with the different categories and such.Doesn't 40 presets kind of defeat the reason for presets?
Is this the update than came out a few weeks ago?I just put in the new update and updated NAV info and now my radio presents no longer show the stations in the tubes.
The most recent update was from April 2022. Nothing new has come since then.Is this the update than came out a few weeks ago?
Thanks, seems to me I did a "first time ever" update in March. I was avoiding the purple radio tube screen. So I may need to do the update that was mentioned in that email. The most recent update was from April 2022. Nothing new has come since then.
Kia has sent reminder emails within the last few weeks to all or most people on their email list, but that is all. Just a reminder. Nothing new as long as you did the April update.
My most recent update (which was actually my first update ever since picking up car in October 2020) was in March 2021. II got the purple tube update. Should I update to this April update? I'm sensing I might want to wait if other Telluride owners are regretting their decision to download the April update. The most recent update was from April 2022. Nothing new has come since then.

This was super helpful. I mostly use AA. I'm going out to load it on now then. Thanks for your help.Follow my link above and you’ll see the detailed information about the biggest things that have changed with the newest update.
My assumption would be the people who regret the update most are the five people who actually liked the tube radio interface.
My biggest questions would be:
Do you actually use the radio? If not, then it doesn’t even matter because you never use that part of the system. The nixie tubes being taken away wouldn’t affect you one way or another.
Do you use Android Auto? If you do, you probably want to install this update, since it is the one where Kia finally made it to 2019 and realized that AA can fully utilize large screens.
Certainly. Check out this information while you’re waiting for more about the situation with AA after the update. This was super helpful. I mostly use AA. I'm going out to load it on now then. Thanks for your help.
I read somewhere that the updates hapoen automatically via cloud if you have the UVO ultimate package. Is there any truth to that??Certainly. Check out this information while you’re waiting for more about the situation with AA after the update.
Not for 2020-22 models.I read somewhere that the updates hapoen automatically via cloud if you have the UVO ultimate package. Is there any truth to that??

That's the problem. I don't own a thumb drive or even a computer to download anything from one to the other. I'm certainly not going to buy one just to do this. The last laptop I had was from 2010. Haven't had a use for one since. Until now I guess. How much of a benefit are the updates? Geez, suddenly I feel like "that old guy" now....bummer..

Was not aware of that option. I've been all over the app and the website and I never came across that I could buy it ready made. Thanks for the tip.The benefit of the updates depends on how you use the system.
If you use the built-in navigation, it is helpful to update to keep the information as current as possible.
Otherwise, thiings that are changed or added are more sporadic. Some update versions hardly change anything. Some provide big user interface changes or usability upgrades. It all depends.
For example, this most recent one from April finally allows Android Auto to use the entire screen, something Telluride (and other Hyundai/Kia owners) had been missing for nearly three years. For the few people who still listen to the radio, it also fixed the mess-up of adding the Nixie tube radio interface in late 2020, reverting to a more typical radio interface. More importantly, it allows for 40 presets instead of 24, and they are now able to be reordered.
Past updates also added the ability to display album artwork over bluetooth audio, added sounds of nature, added new map themes, etc.
Ultimately, it depends on what you value and if it pertains to you.
Even if you don’t possess a computer, you can always buy a ready-made USB with the update preinstalled on it directly from the source for $25 plus shipping. So there are always options.
I wish I hadn't done it. I don't like it at all.My most recent update (which was actually my first update ever since picking up car in October 2020) was in March 2021. II got the purple tube update. Yep, you can click the link at the top right of the update.kia.com site where it says “shipping order website.” Or just go straight to Mapnsoft. Was not aware of that option. I've been all over the app and the website and I never came across that I could buy it ready made. Thanks for the tip.
