In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

A few questions.
Does anyone on the forum have a front skid plate on their telluride they could share a picture of?

Anyone seen the mahogany NON prestige interior up close? Curious what the leather is like. I ordered SX dark moss mahogany interior.

Thanks!
This is exactly what we ended up ordering! I think it’ll look sharp together!

Here’s a shot of the skid plate.

Here’s a shot of the EX mahogany. The regular SX mahogany would be the same. The pattern for the regular leather seats doesn’t seem to have changed much (or at all) for 2023.

Thanks for both pics! I had seen an espresso brown from 21/22 and we originally had it on order, just wanted to see how dark mahogany might be and view if any different patterning. For once, the actual color here matches the depiction in my mind of what mahogany would look like. Well done Kia!

The skid plate… purely functional then vs aesthetic? I might consider one.

Awesome!! I think the whole color scheme “flows” if you will.

I also just looked at the SX wheels with the regular SX trim and I think it still looks sharp. A bit more space ship and techy with the Oreo wheels, which actually tie into the color of the new silver front bumper and the rest of the silver trim. I think it works just fine.

More than anything, excited for a car under warranty, with new tech, and great space for family road trips!

We were out running errands today and decided to swing by a couple lots to look at colors in person just to confirm our 23 order decisions. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures but some thoughts that might be helpful it was 100% full sun today when we were out looking:

•X-line side by side with regular- the bumpers/grill trim are all silver, but the x-line is darker, more like a gunmetal. On the rear it blends in much better with the typical black plastic skirting at the bottom of the bumper.
• I liked the blue more in person than I did in the videos. I don’t think any of the photos I’ve seen really show the true color. It’s not Royal in person, it’s like a cousin to the Michigan state trooper car color, but with a touch more purple/navy if that makes sense.
• didn’t love the grille on the S/SX the nicest looking one imo is the xline, but not a huge dealbreaker either way
• navy/gray interior looks interesting, but only saw it from the outside. Seemed fairly subtle in terms of the navy color
• xline blacked out trim has maybe the slightest hint of bronze color to it. Looked almost an oddly similar match with the moss paint color.
•the front bumper which I don’t love in a lot of the photos honestly didn’t bother me at all in person.

Saw: gravity gray xline, moss xline, mlb s, ebony black ex

Nice overview - thank you. Glad to hear about the x-line features as that's the one I'm getting!

Thanks for sharing. I agree- the notorious bumper is not as offensive in person. Still a mistake, but not atrocious.

That’s what I’ve been trying to get through to people. Is the bumper a massive improvement? No. Is it this heinous addition that completely ruins the car? Not by a long shot.

The thing with the bumpers is that the first generation lines were near perfect. The design made sense and was connected. It’s partially what gave credibility to Range Rover aesthetic comparisons.

The new front and rear bumpers look like legos. It’s like Lego approached Kia and said “we’d like to make a telluride Lego set, but can’t quite get the bumpers down”, and Kia said “we’ve got you covered. Now you can use the most standard of flat pieces!” It went from impressively clean to unnecessarily busy. There’s just no harmony with the lines and it’s an unforced error.

you all have great success finding these 2023 pics, anyone find an s? Wanting to see the wheels. Probably ordering a black s but color could change based on s pics.

I posted a link to an S back in July.

And there are many others that have been posted since in other threads.

Here’s a black S:1665376826994.webp

Thanks much!! I looked in several threads and in dozens of pages but clearly missed it or skipped the page, but I did look for quite a while. And looking for an "S" trim is a rather difficult thing to search for other than manually.

Speaking of missing information in these new '23 threads, has it been confirmed or revealed that the new window trim on the 'X' models is different than the flake prone NF trim? I can't recall reading that yet, if any improvements have been made to the production of the trim. Thanks

Completely agree! It’s like they changed it just to make a change 🤮 definitely a step backwards.

You are in good company with your thoughts re: 2023 but I actually like the changes. They don't matter a great deal to me *except* I think that the Everlasting Silver looks much better in 2023 than 2022 and below. Previously the silver on silver looked a little mini-van-ish in my opinion, with a random assortment of holes in partially wrapped chrome trim. But now that the chrome-ish has a nice crisp border all around it makes it look much more well-defined and cleaner, so much that now I am reconsidering EB and may go for ES.

Does the silver portion of the wheels match the trim on the S? It looks similar for the picture, but if it is really close, I think it would help the rims look better. Has anyone seen these rims in person and can comment? There seems to be a bunch of people that have stated that the changes look much better in person than they did in media pics, I'm wondering if the rims look markedly better in person.

It’s probably close (all bright), but likely not exact. The wheels have machined aluminum, and the bright trim is satin chrome. Close enough.

I saw this exact combo in person, sorry to say while I do think they look slightly better in person, I absolutely hate these rims (Take this with a grain of salt, because I also hate almost all of the old and new Telluride rims- the only ones I've liked are the blacked out old NF or the new Xline, although the blacked out look isn't my jam). It's sad because of the other various cars we saw on lots: Sorentos, Sportages, EV6 I actually liked the rims much better on those than the Tellurides.

Folks were powdercoating (and plast-dipping...) their S wheels black previously. Now most of the rim is black already.... would it be cheaper to just powdercoat the remaining silver bits, or maybe it wouldn't look awful to just plasti-dip the remaining silver bits? Or would that look terrible.

Really digging the new LED tail lights on the 2023s. Wonder if it'd be an easy, plug and play swap from the older LED tail lights.
