If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What will the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

We went to the Phila auto show in the summer and after looking at the cars there the Telluride was so the winning jewel. After months of contemplating when and if we should go ahead and get one, we started the dreaded car dealership search. You know the game that is played back and forth. Keeping you at their dealership for hours! It was really holding us back. I went online and was reading reviews of the dealerships in a 25-mile range of my home. Wasn't a fan of any of them. We got approved for a loan at our credit union. Nice, we didn't have to go through that process at the dealer, should go too bad with that out of the way. Looked online and saw several cars with the package we wanted. Emailed the dealers and we received info that the car we wanted they didn't have but we have this "" one. I do not know how many times they tried to get us into something we did not want. We were very direct. Also, we did not tell them we were approved all ready (not pre-approved (approved)). The one dealer that had a name similar to a racetrack told us pretty much that they did not need our business because they were a high ordering/selling dealer. hmm. Bye-Bye, we didn't need you either. They didn't even offer to order us the car we wanted. Why don't the car companies make dealerships not be um, yeah, so shitty. We went to a dealer in West Chester. The salesman Kyle came out and was very down-to-earth, personable, and relatable. We told him what we wanted and he said all they had on the lot was a 22. But, I can order it for you! What! Yes, let's do that. We gave him the info SXP, we gave him $2500 to start the process and we were good to go. Easy. In and out. This dealership I read a lot of bad reviews. So far so good. I will give updates on how my process goes. So far "I'll see you in a KIA" has my vote! Request for my Telly SXP was put in on Saturday 10/08/22. Look for follow up as my process proceeds

Is $2500 deposit the norm? Refundable? Seems high for a car that has severe shortages.

We ordered a ‘22 last year in early October. We finally took delivery in late August. The price jumped $11k MSRP and we lost about $5k in add ons that were on our build sheet(due to “shortages”). All in all, the wife loves her new ride (that’s all that matters) but I was thoroughly unimpressed by the manufacturer, dealership and the lack of technology inside the car. Best of luck with the ordering process!

Manufacturer.... well, KIA is really going to the moon nowadays.
Dealership... yes I agree, they aint no Lexus or Benz, they suck.

BUT

"the lack of technology inside the car" - Wait... WHAT?!?!?

I will wait for my SXP That’s what I want. If it’s something other then what I requested I’ll wait for it. Although, so far this dealership heard what I wanted and didn’t try to change anything while we were ordering. Keeping my fingers crossed! Salespeople have such a bad reputation all around.
