  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... About a month ago, I naively tried to order a Prestige. Didn't take long to realize the futility of it, so the regular SX it would be if I'm going Telluride. Also became apparent that I really didn't have time to order a car anyway - so that option quickly went off the table, even if they are taking SX orders. In the last several weeks, I reached out to so many dealers just to find an SX. Many were nice. Some not. Most didn't have what Kia website said they did. One took my refundable deposit on a SX that was supposed to come in last weekend (I was told) but didn't - with less than great assurances of when it would be coming (I was also then told that the VIN on my invoice was not the same as what I'd get, but based on one that had already been sold). Became very apparent that that deal wasn't nearly as buttoned up as I hoped. Yet another dealer totally tried to scam me, and when I called them on their games before I made may way over there, I got a call from a different salesperson who was ready to sell, but at a $8k premium. Others said they would call me back, but never did and still others quickly lost interest in me when I said I'd pay no more than MSRP minus Kia incentives.

Yesterday, morning, I got a call back from one of the dealers I had reached out to. About 80 miles from my NYC office. A SX AWD just came in: ebony black/black SX AWD, with factory Towing Package and carpeted floor mats. Dealer very nice and came across genuine. No games. They said not in the business of selling over MSRP, but insisted on MSRP. Paid my price of MSRP minus Kia incentives. Could they deliver today? Yes. Done. Worked the deal over the phone, took the bus out and arranged for an Uber to me up from the station. Super friendly! If there were negatives they were very minor (a) soft to medium sell for third party extended/gap coverage warranty (no thanks); and (b) dealer decals - letter by letter, so many letters! - already on the trunk - it did not occur to me to ask!

That said, drove it home. Awesome. I can't believe the amount of car I got for that price. Took about a month of diligence in my spare time, but very happy.

I was super lucky... Bought the SX Telluride right off the lot in about 30 minutes... Dealer/salesperson (Jesse at Durham Kia-Whitby, Ontario Canada) said it could be a few months before they could get another SX...But i was trading in a Caddy ATS Coupe and GMC Terrain in so dealer was willing to part with the SX... As a lifelong GM driver.. I can't believe the amount of vehicle for the money.. So much so I went back 2 weeks later and traded my Sierra in on the Stinger. Both in white 🤘

Nice! I can't believe I paid less for the SX AWD than I did 11 years ago for my nearly fully loaded '08 Buick Enclave that I special ordered.
