I had a similar issue with mine. They had my car about a week diagnosing and replacing parts. I think I posted here somewhere about it but if I remember right there was some signal that wasn’t being transmitted properly indicating that saying that a particular condition had been met.My 2020 Telluride SX Prestige the ISG has not work more that is has. I know there are many different conditions that need to be met so the ISG will shut off the engine. It has been to the dealership 3 times to look at the issue. The last time they had the car 6 weeks, opened a Kia Techline ticket and the conclusion was it was not being driven enough to keep the battery charged to have the ISG shut off the engine.
However, during that 6-week period they loaned me a Kia K5, that engine shut off every time, once the engine was warm, and the driving habits were the same as the Telluride.
After getting the car back(3 weeks ago), I have been logging the duration and milage of every trip. We drove the Telluride over the Thanksgiving holiday 2.5 hours one way to the NC coast(about 150 miles). It did not shut off when we got to our destination and my feeling is that 2.5 hours should have charged the battery enough to have the ISG shut off the engine. The return trip it did not shut off either.
I know there are plenty members on this forum that would tell me I am lucky that it does not work. I don't need to hear that. This is a feature we paid for but does not work as advertised.
My next step, as told to me by the service manager, is to escalate it to Kia Customer Care. Do other Telluride owners feel I have a problem? Are there others that are having the same problem? Trying to get confirmation before I escalate. Thanks
Experiencing the same as you, ISG has only worked maybe 20 times in the past 3 years of ownership. Even when I charge the battery (roughly 13.1 volts fully charged), ISG will only work for about a day or two.My 2020 Telluride SX Prestige the ISG has not work more that is has. I had similar symptoms and was told the exact same thing.
I bought my own battery charger and volt meter to do some testing of my own.
It turned out to be a bad battery that wasn’t holding charge properly.
It cost me $150 of my own money. Plus 200 km of driving back and forth as it took two trips to convince them.
Wow, those symptoms are very similar and the times it did work after about 2 -3 days it would stop. They changed the battery twice in the car with no luck. The service manager led on that he thinks it could be a 2020 issue only. He also mentioned he as a BMW he drives one a month and it turns off right after the engine is warm. Are you just living with it not working?Experiencing the same as you, ISG has only worked maybe 20 times in the past 3 years of ownership. May battery will usually dip to around 12.3-12.5 volts with the car off, which apparently isn’t enough juice even when all the conditions for ISG to function.
When I rented a Ford Explorer recently while on vacation, the ISG worked every drive. Even better, the car would in addition, auto stop whilst fully stopped when the computer systems decided conditions were met for ISG. Whereas the Telluride will only engage ISG when you are in the action of fully depressing the brake pedal. If it doesn’t shut off there, it will not at all until the next time you brake.
I also rented an Infiniti QX60 and that car never engaged the ISG unless I turned off the climate control.
Where you able to check the new battery voltage? Curious if it holds a charge at or around 13 volts when new and the ISG is working.
What about this? You should be thankful that it does not work, I have to shut it off manually every single time I drive.
Just installed it. Not as simple as the online video shows. Removing the console trim was a task. Then putting in neutral and the car constantly pings at you until you are done. And doing the zip tie as a one-person job cut up my wrist due to the clips under it. Have someone hold up the console when doing the zip tie. When I do the other telly, I'll be prepared. Works great though....What about this?
