• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Today when I towed a trailer for the first time, the BCW sounded every time I engaged my turn signal. I didn't find any way to adjust the warning area, so I just had to shut it off. Would be nice to be able to adjust that, just like you can for a motion detecting camera like a Ring.

I guess I'll have to revert to the Old School, looking over my shoulder and at the mirrors before I change lanes or turn ;)

One other thing. The trailer is only around 1000 pounds but at highway speeds the transmission is changing gears a lot! It downshifts frequently and even when I lift off the throttle it takes much longer for it to upshift and lower the rpm. It’s very annoying. Maybe I’ll have to try the shifter in manual mode if that’s possible? Anyone else have that problem?

That's what I was thinking, while in "D" move the lever to the right and its in manual mode. I would find a comfortable RPM range and then shift up or down accordingly to stay in that RPM range.

These CVT transmissions are a bit different but I would start there.

Hope it helps.

These aren’t CVTs. They’re traditional automatic transmissions.

And manual mode is to the left of drive.

You are correct, left. My other right side.

Thanks

I was told these are CVT transmissions but haven't looked into it. Matter of fact I think I heard that in a Telluride review video from Edmunds.

Says it right on the window sticker. I don’t think Edmunds would make that big of an error in their reviews.
