  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all! I just jumped on the Telluride train with a new 2023 SX Prestige in Gravity Gray with a gray interior. I previously had a second-generation Honda Pilot that served as our family hauler, but after 13 years of faithful service, it was time for a replacement. Oddly enough, I was a big fan of the Palisade when it came out in 2020 but did not like the styling of the Telluride at all (hated the Hot Wheels-looking SX wheels, the amber DRLs, and the tacked-on infotainment screen).

My wife and I decided we would wait to see what the 2023 Pilot looked like when it was released, and if we didn't like it, we would buy a Palisade. Skip forward to last fall, and we generally liked the Pilot's return to the rugged styling of our second generation model, but when we test drove the vehicle, we were underwhelmed by the tiny infotainment screen and a general lack of "wow" factor for a car that was over $50k. We decided to take another look at the Palisade, only to find that Hyundai had updated the styling with a horrendous grille that looks like something out of a Transformers movie.

I decided to see what Kia did to the Telluride for 2023, and to my surprise, they had remedied everything that kept me from considering it before - the SX Prestige had wheels that I loved, the garish amber DRLs were gone, and the all-digital dash was beautifully executed. We test drove the car and immediately found that it felt much more expensive and elegant and than the Pilot, and it had a long list of features that the Honda simply couldn't match. We wanted a very specific color combination that was a little tough to find, but after combing all the dealerships within a 2-hour drive, we found our car in a neighboring state and managed to get out the door at MSRP. So far, apart from its well-documented poor fuel economy in city driving and lack of wireless Carplay, we love the Telluride and are thrilled to be part of the club. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that reliability will be good!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! Nice upgrade from the Honda Pilot - which is also a nice SUV. I'm glad when all is said and done, you ended up with a Telluride. I do believe it's the best choice among the group you cross-shopped. :)
