Order to delivery time

Curious if those making orders and getting quick fills paid significantly above sticker? Also wondering if most of the quick turnarounds are on X lines?

I just got an update from Hendricks in Cary NC that we're #139. This after ordering 8.5 months ago (March 22). We've been told to expect one year from our order (originally told 6-9 mos), which looks about right given our number in line. Seems like we'd have been better just walking in and ordering fresh in say August. But Hendricks is a minimal mark up dealer (added on about $1300 in mostly useless options). Some here have suggested that paying the $5K plus markup gets the car there quicker?

Anyways, I guess we just keep on waiting as others have done...
We were at $3k over MSRP...

Just found out that our car is "waiting for transport", so wanted to update the ETA below - - -

Ordered Telluride 2022 on Jan 8, 2022
Switched to 2023 model during Oct
Took delivery 2023 EX FWD on 12/10
Dealer: Moritz Kia Alliance, Fort worth

We ordered 5/5 from Hart Kia in Salem, VA and were told 8-12 months. It arrived 12/8 and we will pick it up tomorrow (12/12). Also, we paid MSRP.

Based on this and other threads, is anyone picking up ordered Tellurides with the hitch attachment? Have they fixed this?

Just went by my local dealership in a fairly small town. They have SIX 2023 Telle's on the lot for sale. Been driving in there for about 3 years, never seen that many. Seems that KIA is pushing out a lot of inventory for immediate sale. Wonder how that's affecting deliveries to people on wait lists, such as yours truly now looking at a full year if I'm lucky (March).

The market is definitely shifting. I'm seeing prices coming down on used significantly. Inventory is getting better and driving the price down I assume.

Ordered in August. Arrived in September. 4 weeks. SX AWD. Helped that assembly plant was in same state.

I'm brand new to this forum, and to owning a Kia. How does the ordering process work? Do certain dealerships get certain allotments? I ordered mine October 24/25 and the dealership has received a white one that was not ordered, but I'm not seeing anything else in failcat. I ordered Black SX Prestige.
Sorry if this question has been asked before - I'm trying to be patient, but so ready!
Our dealer told us about a 90 day TAT.

I received a call out of the blue that my telluride would be delivered 12/29- I was completely ecstatic as this was sooner than anticipated. However, I was quickly deflated when I reviewed my window sticker and the wrong interior color was entered….I never got a clear indication of whether the order was entered wrong by the dealer or Kia messed up the build. In hindsight I wish my dealer would have provided the build sheet early on so this may have been noticed and resolved. Now back to the waiting game!

Update: My local dealer has 8 new tellurides on the lot, not 6. Again, this is a fairly low volume dealer (over years I've seen 1-3 new Tellurides on the lot max). I figured they'd be gone in a few days, but all 8 still there. It's only been a few days, and I'm sure they'll sell fairly quickly, but not instantly. They are about $6K above MRSP for those new ones.

I guess my thought is that KIA is clearly pushing a bunch of inventory out there for dealer lots. Not sure how this is affecting those waiting for orders, but can't help since those vehicles are not filling orders.

I'm VERY new to this process. If my dealer is saying mine has a delivery estimated date of 3/28, when should the VIN typically be available and when would I likely see it in Failcat?

I didn’t see my VIN on Failcat until about a week before it arrived at the dealer.

I am also curious about Lhdoming question.

Finally, after almost exactly a year of waiting, we've been given a delivery date of 4/3. Seemed it would never happen. (ordered 3/12/2022).

Dealer said they'd let me know if it comes in sooner. Does that happen very often?

We are with Hendricks, Cary, NC who seem to do a pretty large volume of Telluride orders just a bit over sticker, maybe 30-40 a month?

Do you mind sharing what Hendricks Cary is charging over MSRP? I bought from them 2 years ago but it had a vibration problem at 65MPH and Hendricks Cary was good about it, they took it back. I am starting to look again in North Carolina. Hope Kia solved the vibration problem by now.

Been trying to purchase a Telluride in N.E. Wisconsin since 2019 and very unsuccessful due to the popularity. Got lucky and was able pre-buy a 2021 Palisade Limited in Sep'20 as it was in route to the US to replace our 2009 Acadia and have been satisfied 3 years in. Now it's almost time to replace and upgrade our 2016 Optima. This week, called 2 Kia dealers looking to find out the process to buy a 2023 SX Prestige (non-X line). Dealer #1 in Green Bay indicated they do not take orders and they are still using a wait list as inventory comes in; wait time still trending 18 to 24 months and the new arriving Tellurides are prioritized to fill customers with leases first and then allow the wait list to put a deposit on the remaining non-leased inventory first-come-first-serve. Dealer #2 in Appleton also not taking orders, but also no leases, just using a wait list. Dealer #2 was seeing 10 to 12 month waits last model year, but this year seeing about a 6 month wait for 2023's, speculating the new models are less popular and people are concerned the values aren't holding up based on interest rates and worried about over paying. Both dealers offer the opportunity to put a $500 refundable deposit when a vehicle comes into inventory that matches what the customer wants. Needless to say I'm on both lists hoping to hear back by Fall'23.

Ours was set to arrive on 3/6 - that's what they kept telling us. It then arrived on 2/22. So yes, they can arrive a little early at times.

Your dealer has access to the tentative schedule from the Kia plant. The VIN is typically created after paint and should be on failcat within a day or so of that. Your dealer can also provide the window sticker as soon as the VIN is created. Look at my signature and you'll see all the info I received from my dealer - they were great!

Any reason why you have eliminated auto stop?
