Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist malfunction

Purchased my 2020 Telluride Mar 2020 .
Now finding that my Forward collision avoidance assist(FCA) warning seems to suddenly turn off in the middle of my travels , then maybe 10 minutes later turns back on without any warning.
Very annoying. Wondering if anyone as encounter this problem before and what is the corrective measure ?

Have you checked the radar detector, the black rectangle on the bottom grill below the front license plate, is clean from mud/debris? Also the camera opening at the top middle of your exterior front windshield? FCA relies on these two sensors to work and that they remain free of obstruction.

Appreciate your response. I checked those items and they seemed clean and but cleaned them again. Will advise when I go on a long distance trip .

Unfortunately this problem remains as bad as ever. Wondering if it is a Chip or wiring problem. Would appreciate if anyone might have encountered same problem with the Collision Avoidance system. FCA. ?

Just encountered the same at low speed and higher speed. Seems sporadic. Had the car in the dealership and they checked codes and said all was ok. 2 days later it reoccur and the car is going back to the dealership.

How many miles on car when issue started? Hope it gets resolved no one likes defective cars. Can’t enjoy them!

Had mine since May 2019. Only time this happens is in snow and ice - coats the lower radar.

My 2021 front crash sensor seems to be picking up cars in the left hand lane next to me. If that lane stops my warning beep goes on and car brakes. I am not close to the other car. This is very scary when it happens. I brought in the car they said it's fine it didn't happen when they did a fast test drive. So scared I will be git from the back

Any resolution to your problem? I’m having the same issues for nearly a year now. I got the software update from the service bulletin, but no change. I’m taking it in next week so they can connect it with “tech line” where Kia reps from somewhere else will log into the Telly to see what they can do. I’m thinking they need to replace the system completely.

Yep. After fighting and fighting, the radar sensor behind my bumper was at the wrong angle. It wasnt picking up cars in front me until I was RIGHT behind them. It was pointed almost straight down. Its hard to reach with the bumper on, so they removed the bumper and fixed the angle. I was convinced it wa a simple fix afte rall the BS they did. Odds are, you may have taken a good dip and maybe scratched the bottom of the bumper somewhere while driving, which messed with teh radar sensor. I think thats what happened to me. Good luck!

I am having the same problem with my Kia Telluride. It has been at the dealership for two weeks. This is my third time we have been at the dealership trying to get the problem fixed.

I have been to the dealership 4x over 2 years with no resolution for this problem. 2020 Telluride SX. They've tried aligning and idk what else but what a pain. They said they reached out to the Kia engineers but I haven't heard or seen a resolution.

Yes! They removed front bumper to get to sensor. It was angled too far down and was picking up everything right in front of the car. I think I took a big dip somewhere sometime and hit it to mess up the angle…

Did this ever get fixed? Could they figure out what was wrong with it. I've been having it for 2 years and Dealer has had it for 7 weeks!

This happened to me as well for 2024 at 5k miles along with the issue with check HDA warning.
It's currently in the dealership for two days and but they still haven't reached out to me.
I already regret to purchase the KIA...
