• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a 2023 Kia Seltos S (fwd only) in the United States, I always have the lane keeping assist active, sometimes I will activate the lane following assist. The lane following assist appears to keep the car centered better between the lane marking painted lines. However I feel like my car when both of those assists are engaged still wanders very close to the lane marker line on the driver's side of the car. Can those technologies be tweaked to center the car more accurately? Can the dealer make this adjustment, I believe I've seen advertisements for windshield glass replacement companies that are capable of making those adjustments too. Has anyone had this done? I could not find this information in the Kia seltos forum, I think the systems are very similar I would appreciate any experiences you can share, thank you

It took me some time to figure it out, but i did! Those 2 working together does not work properly! Only use lane follow assist! When i first got the my telly i was like this shit would be perfect if this was not always running over the lines to the other side. Then one day i said im just going to use lane follow assist and low and behold thats all you need! It takes curbs like a champ now! The only thing is when i am in an extended curb it asks me to grab the wheel again just to make sure im paying attention! I use mines everyday on my commute to work, hell its one of the biggest reason i bought it! I hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply ceenote . I never thought of deactivating the always on "lane keeping assist", There is a button on my dash so that I can turn that lane keeping assist off. And then I will activate the steering wheel symbol on my steering wheel which is the "lane following assist" (As a side note the Kia salesman told me that button was for the heated steering wheel, my car does not have the heated steering wheel option) . I will report back after I test it out.

I went out on the turnpike yesterday and alternated between the lane keeping assist and the lane following assist using each one independently it seems as though the lane following assist centers the car more accurately. Turning on or off the lane keeping assist did not seem to have any effect one way or the other.

I agree - it is almost as if the LKA is halfway getting the job done, while the LFA gets it done.

Lane keeping assist does just that. It keeps you in your lane. It’s a reactive system… it will only respond if you are about to hit the lane line or leave your lane, then it’ll try to bounce you back in.

Lane following assist is an active system, it is actively steering and trying to keep you centered in your lane.

These systems can work together just fine, but typically when LFA is on, LKA is unnecessary due to the way it works.

And to go back to your original question, you can’t modify the calibration. It may seem to you that you’re too far to the left, but you most likely aren’t. Check your mirrors as to how you’re positioned in your lane. A lot of people don’t realize how much they ride the right side of their lane… so when something actually centers them, it seems like they’re too far left. But you aren’t.

yes, and the LKA does not enhance or detract when LFA is set to 'on'. So i will not deactivate the LKA on the dash, because it does 'half way get the job done', however the LKA does not work under 40mph, but the LFA does work under 40 if i turn it on at the steering wheel.
But my original problem still exists - when either or both are 'on' the car will wander too far, and i will feel the lane marker bumps, my friends 2020 Soul will not wander this far. So the original question remains, can the dealer (or safelite or others) tweak this to be more accurrate?

I haven't noticed this happening - but I would assume the dealer can "tweak" it back to normal. One phone call should answer the question without you having to waste a lot of time at the dealership.

I’m not familiar with the Seltos but on the Telluride (20-22), the LFA is only active when the smart cruise control is on. Other models may vary. The LKA does become more aggressive as you increase speed, especially on curves.
