• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New owner of a 24 Kia Telluride. Recently noticed a sound coming from drivers side door/window like rushing air or like an open window. It's appears around 20mph and increases in intensity with higher speeds. What's the cause and is Kia doing something to resolve this issue?
Went to dealership service drpt, they told me it's a known problem with the side mirror and ordered a new one. Anyone know this to be a credible diagnosis and fix??

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What did the Telluride replace for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

Also letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the main Telluride forum. :)

Yes, Kia is doing something. They ordered you a new side mirror. Should be a credible fix since Kia is not forking out money on a new side mirror if it doesn’t fix it.

So far their first action is to tell me it's the driver side mirror is defective and needs replacing, so they have one on order.

I'd be very interested in hearing if that fixes the problem. Lots of folks (including me) have noted the same problem, but I've never heard of any fixes. . Good luck !

I recently picked up my 24 SX X-Line and noticed the same issue when driving home from the dealership. Starts about 40 mph and gets worse as speed increases. Sounds as if the window is rolled down just a crack.

I brought it back to dealer. They replaced the door seal and the technician noted on the receipt that he test drove and sound is gone. On the drive home the wind noise was still present and I noticed no change so I brought it back.

Had the service advisor ride in the vehicle. He acknowledged he heard it but had no interest in driving where we could increase the speed so he could hear exactly how bad it gets. Now they have ordered new window seals. We drove their test drive Telluride and it doesn’t have the same issue.

Interesting they are telling you it’s the side mirror.

That's weird, I've had my 2024 sx x-line for a little over a month and never noticed it. My wife actually says it's the quietest car she's been in.

I also had a 21 and the cabin was silent. Disappointed to have this issue in the 24 but hopefully they get it right

Any update on your fix? My dealer has replaced the door seal and window seals with no change. They still have my vehicle and don't have an idea what the fix is.

The actually issue is the 2 windows right behind the drivers do not have sound deadening so you can here the wind noise from them.

My issue was actually the front windshield. They had to take it off and reset it. It took awhile for them to diagnose and fix the issue but happy in the end. It was driving me crazy!

2024 sx-prestige here. I too noticed it, thought it might be a windy day but nope. It is worse as speed increases. I just had a 2018 subaru and did not have this issue. If I put my elbow and arm around the window seal, it deadens a bit. But it's very noticeable. May need to live with it until enough people have the issue and the service centers don't just automatically replace the mirror. Seems like a seal issue.

I should note I first noticed after getting tinted. I am reading that they have unseat the inner mold to get tint in. If not properly reseated, can leave an improper seal.
