I need to run a #6 or #8 wire from the battery to the rear cargo boot for a subwoofer. Anyone with experience getting power to the rear of the vehicle?
Thanks.....
Before i did my big Subwoofer and anp upgrade on my car audio I was running six gauge no issues connected to a Rockford Fosgate P500.
The wiring is a major part but it all depends on what you're running and how hard the bass is Going to hit witch causing the amp to draws current Or if a multi channel amp too.
You need to make sure that you have sufficient wiring size With a strong ground.
I always run oxygen free. Copper really doesn't matter too much on smaller systems. But I just prefer if you're going to do it. Do it right it matters when you get into higher watts for amps and such to avoid stuff, not sending a clean signal or overheating.
Again, depending on what you're running, you may want to run an additional battery but at that size gauge of wire most likely not. It depends on the watch and your app just because an app says that it runs a specific amount of Watts does not mean that it truly runs that or clean watts .
Here's my sub ,amp and additional sealed battery.
I'm running for gauge oxygen free copper for my wires from the engine Bay. All the way back to the app to the app to the additional battery,
At the moment I'm pushing 1200 Watts but it is an extremely loud and clean 1200 Watts .
Next, I will be changing out the remaining speakers and running a multi-channel app. I will bump up my accelerator batteries to handle two amplifiers.
Stay away from the ferret This is a much better way to run power to your amplifiers. Extremely less chance of them blowing up, You don't want that to blow up in your vehicle off. Those other devices not good.
The battery definitely helps save on the original one. No lights flicker and no diminish sound

I did keep the factory subwoofer hooked up. So that when I do decide to remove the box I still have some type of bass. How are you connecting your amp off of what ?
If you are not running an LC2I PRO I highly recommend that you do otherwise. You are robbing your sound and clarity and true ability
