• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So…we bought a new Telluride and the seats are so uncomfortable. I’ve read that many people use a seat cushion, but unfortunately it deactivates the airbag on the passenger side only. I read in another forum that if you put tin foil between the seat and cushion it will prevent the air bag light from going on. I tried it and it worked!! Ok…here is where my stupidity shows. Does this mean the airbag will work like normal? I don’t know how all this science-y stuff works but just want to make sure I didn’t bypass some sort of circuit and the airbag not deploy in case of an accident!! lol!

If the airbag is "on," meaning the car registers a passenger, then an air bag will be deployed in case of an accident when the specific triggers for air bag deployment are warranted. Not all accidents deploy an air bag. In the manual it explains this and where the sensors are.

Hello, thank you for the share tip with foil. I have the same problem with a new KIA Telluride 2024 that after a month the light for passenger seat turn on to show that airbag2 on passenger side if off. I put foil between seat and cushion and light is gone!!! Dealership cannot fix it. There said, remove cushion. I had Nissan cars for 20 years and never has any issue with airbag and no issue that related to manufacturing. Our 1sh KIA car and right away issue. Disappointed about KIA.
Might to sell this new Telluride and will go to Pathfinder.
