Why no redline on the tach?

Just noticed my telluride tach has no indication of redline. (This might be a common thing nowadays, for all I know.) I'm sure the max revs are strictly and electronically governed so it doesn't really need to indicate redline on the tach but it makes me wonder just what the heck is the redline? 6500? 7000? 7500? Why should I care?

The older pre-refresh models with an analog cluster had a redline shown (6500 RPM). Looks like you have a post-refresh SX with the 12.3" digital gauge cluster. None of the options have a redline except for the sport mode one. If you have your cluster theme linked to drive mode, it'll show redline in sport mode, or you can unlink and have it persistently show that one if you so desire.

Realistically, redline doesn't matter because these aren't really cars where you're driving super aggressively, and even if you are, the car is going to shift for you (or will likely bounce you off the redline if you're in manual mode).
