Does anyone know what would cause a slow throttle response on the telluride
Snow mode. Other drive modes.Does anyone know what would cause a slow throttle response on the telluride
Maybe the drive mode can affect throttle response? I have not experimented with that as yet"Smart" seems to give me fast response sometimes and slow response other times. This random drive mode stuff is among the worst features of the car. Just let me set the car the way I want it and then leave me alone. Had I really understood what an obnoxious mess it is I may not have bought the car.
Yes. I'm pretty sure that is what is happening. "Smart" switches modes based only on its own opinions.Maybe the drive mode can affect throttle response? I have not experimented with that as yet
I have the EX model with a rotary dialYes. I'm pretty sure that is what is happening. "Smart" switches modes based only on its own opinions.
Yup. Me, too.I have the EX model with a rotary dial
I think it is a great car, amazing safety protections built in.From what I read in the owners manual the car adjusts to your driving style. The sport mode is supposed to have a better throttle response.I have not tried it yet though.Yup. Me, too.
Exactly. Your manual will also tell you that you can't leave the car in sport mode. Some idiot programmer has decided that you must always start in a mode chosen by the programmer, not by you.I think it is a great car, amazing safety protections built in.From what I read in the owners manual the car adjusts to your driving style. The sport mode is supposed to have a better throttle response.I have not tried it yet though.
You are right about the surrogate. However,I think the program requires a return to default, the same as the on/off button.Exactly. I thought that I was buying a car here. I didn't realize I was getting a surrogate mother
Yes it does. The question is whether it should. The car belongs to the customer, not to the programmerYou are right about the surrogate. However,I think the program requires a return to default, the same as the on/off button.
The Telluride puts safety first. The car won't even move if my safety belt isn't on.I think that is a great feature to have.Yes it does. The question is whether it should. The car belongs to the customer, not to the programmer
Interesting. I wasn't aware of that "feature" so I tested it on a quick grocery run this morning. Seat belt light came on during all-bulb-test and was not seen again. Also no beeping and no issue with driving before I fastened the belt. This may actually be a manufacturing defect: "Federal safety standards require a belt reminder system for drivers that provides a warning light and an audible warning lasting 4-8 seconds." (Seat belts)... The car won't even move if my safety belt isn't on.I think that is a great feature to have.
It's good that you use a seat Belt.If a door is slightly ajar the system will.beep like mad.and the car is moving until the door is fully closed.Interesting. Not a big deal one way or another because my belt habit is very strong.
I tried sport mode in town and it did make a difference perhaps too much of a response.Eco mode feels comfortable in town. For me,I would use sport mode on the hiway,if needed, like for passing. For maximum responsiveness, maybe drive in Sport Mode?
Otherwise, you're just driving a Utility Vehicle.
Poor engineering.Does anyone know what would cause a slow throttle response on the telluride
I wish Kia would allow me to preserve Sport Mode permanently after parking and turning off the car.Exactly. Your manual will also tell you that you can't leave the car in sport mode. Some idiot programmer has decided that you must always start in a mode chosen by the programmer, not by you.

“Smart” takes far too long to switch drive modes, so I don’t use it.If you drive in Smart mode, it stays. Smart mode will switch into Sport quite regularly depending upon how you drive. I have the same frustration as you, and switching to Smart mode was a good compromise.
