• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone found a way to reboot the cellular modem or reinstall the software. Mine has stopped & so far no luck fixing it.

I'm betting it is bundled as part of the entertainment system. Have you tried removing the battery negative connection for 30 minutes and then reconnecting? That will typically reboot most of the electrical system. You may need to reset windows, sunroof, seat, and saved radio channels.

You were bang on, disconnected the battery as you said, reconnected and everything is back to normal. Many thanks as I was led to believe it wouldn't work.

The modem has stopped working again, taking it into dealer we'll see.

Sad to say, but almost all intermittent failures like this end up being due to a loose or marginal connection somewhere. I have never dived under the dash of my Tellie, but if there are connectors you can reach you might try figuring out the latches that hold the plugs together, then unplugging and replugging with the engine off. Do the connector pairs one at a time and test in between. Then if you end up healing the problem you will know the general area of the bad connection.

In the satellite business, the main thing the reliability guys want to know is the number and type of connections. They have failure rate numbers for every type and can crunch them into a prediction.

I had a similar issue last month. Unplugging the modem for about a minute and then plugging it back in worked for me. If that doesn’t fix it, try checking the manufacturer’s website for any software updates or reinstalling the drivers. Sometimes it’s just a glitch that needs a little nudge to get back on track.
