• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my 2022 Kia Telluride SX Nightfall (42k miles). The 4WD System Warning Light comes on and off intermittently, and I pulled the following codes:

  • P1836: Transfer Case Differential Lock-up Solenoid Range/Performance
  • P1829: Transfer Case Control System (4WD Clutch Signal Circuit)
The car drives fine for now, but I’m concerned about what these codes might mean. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be related to the transfer case actuator or something else? Any insights or advice would be appreciated before I take it to the dealer.

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue with my 2021 Telluride SX AWD with 49,500 miles. It has been intermittent for the last 4,500 miles and of course the dealer hasn't been able to replicate it. Since the last 500 miles, the AWD warning light is showing up on nearly every drive. I also get a P1821 - Pending Code. Hopefully the dealer will sort it out before my warranty runs out.

A few days ago, I had my car repaired. I had to visit the dealer multiple times because they couldn't reproduce the issue. While the warning light was one I pay them another visit and eventually, they were able to retrieve the error codes and identify the problem. They replaced the Actuator Assy (Part# 47899-4G500) under warranty.

Good luck—I hope it's the same issue in your case and that they’re able to fix it!
