• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My '24 manual says to use " ... high quality ethylene glycol coolant ..." IOW nothing special. I would just buy a brand I recognize, like Prestone, Zerex, or Peak. Be sure to mix it with water per the label. Premixed is fine if you like buying water at antifreeze prices.

It needs to be phosphate enhanced.I wound up buying a 50/50 premix (POAT) Phosphate enhanced organic acid technology.I bought the Peak product from Amazon, about 18.00 a gallon. Red/Pink Asian Vehicles for Kia and Hyundai 2021 and newer. The owners manual says using the incorrect antifreeze can cause electrical problems. And if there is a problem,it could give Kia a reason to reject a warranty claim.

What (verbatim) does your manual say?

I'm still waiting to see some OEM owner's manual backup for your statements. Reason is I don't think any OEM would produce a cooling system that does not use standard ethylene glycol based coolant. There is too much downside. As an EE I am also interested to see how antifreeze can cause electrical problems.

Absent a factual response I will assume that your statements are nonsense.

My non believer friend: Kia uses different colors of antifreeze for different years
of their models. The colors are not compatible. Can it cause electrical problems? There are TONS of sensors in the car.I just think it would be prudent to do a little research and abide by the cars requirements

Sounds good. Can you point me to some of the research that caused you to make the points you are stating as fact?

As I mentioned, my '24 manual specifies only " ... high quality ethylene glycol coolant ..." Nothing about color. Nothing about compatibility. Nothing about potential electrical problems. Nothing about any other requirements or issues.

I think you would be better off to do a Google search on your phone. All the information is on the internet

Quite funny, actually. You have no backup for the supposed-facts you have been posting and I am supposed to find it for you? Get serious. I have what I need: My owner manual which specifies the kind of coolant that has been used in cars for as long as I can remember.

Really, @robertabba0, you should go upstairs and talk to your mother about this. She will tell you that posting home-made facts on the internet is not something that will help you succeed in life. Also, it is a disservice to those who might actually believe your fiction.

You are insulting my intelligence.I am an IE and also have a degree in Economics.I actually did see the phosphate enhanced statement about antifreeze in the 24 manual. Also, some of the info on the internet is factual.Your response is to put me on the defensive - you are not coming from strength. You also think Top Tier gas is a gimmick. The manual mentions that top tier gas is recommended and if you choose not to believe it you should put an injector cleaner in the gas tank.periodically.When I got rid of my 20 year old Pathfinder with 200k miles the motor ran like new - even a mechanic said that who drove it.The gas cleans injectors and valves. If you can read the manual you will see that the information is there.I intend to keep my car long term and new motors are very expensive.Kia will know if you use incorrect fluids or abuse your car if you have a warranty claim.
Don't respond by putting me on the defensive. You describe yourself as Old Pilot. You should change your moniker to Ancient.
