Good morning chat over coffee thread

Coffee and cool this morning, Temps in the low 40's.
Sitting on the porch with the gas logs on Hi. Reading about Tellurides, sipping coffee and munching a bagel.

Interesting Panhard Rod setup. Not factory, I'd assume?
Any advantage to swapping out the front lower control arm aft bushings (lollipops) to something harder?

Not factory....................needed to recenter the rear end.
OEM LCA's are very compliant, prone to wheel hop / little or no traction, the UCA was replaced also, with an adjustable unit..

Man, low 40s. I do kinda miss the cold weather once in a while. It's 84, windy, and cloudy here today. Man, do I miss good bagels. But I'm probably better off without them. I've got some nice Alien Coffee (coffee substitute) that I made pretty darn good this morning.

Lows in the 40s, highs in the 60's around the Piedmont region of NC today.
Rain expected the remainder of the week. It should be welcomed as we haven't had any appreciable rain in weeks.

Still drinking coffee in the AM and Beer/Wine in the PM, unlike others on here....

Coffee is a morning beverage here in NC!! LOL

Rain for the last two days here. A welcome relief to the dry spell we've had recently.

I've made my winter migration from Souderton PA (had to pick something up) yesterday afternoon, and drove the Telly straight through alone through the night to the Sunshine State. Constant rain, from complete downpour to that super annoying mist that just about impairs any appreciable night vision until about 1/2 way through Georgia. 18.5 Hrs. in total.

I took Interstate 81 south until I veered off towards the east coast taking I77 towards Charleston via Charlotte and Colombia, until I headed due south again on I95. Of which, I rather loathe. I'll heap displeasure about rt. 95 later...

My Telly came (fortunately) with the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. Also armed with fresh wiper blades I plodded on through the overnight, knowing that most of the drivers that would be intimidated by such appalling conditions, were off the road. Therefore I took advantage of the slightly reduced traffic. The main North/South routes are very congested with "Snowbirds", of which I am one, during the fall and spring migration periods. Making any long distance trip excruciatingly frustrating!

Before I get any longer winded, I must say I'm impressed with how the Telly did in the above appalling conditions. The Michelin's did exactly as I expected and shed the vast majority of water and communicated exactly what was going on down there. The wipers mostly held their own (I'm an LX, so therefore it's mostly manual operation) except during super spray conditions. Driving in the rain doesn't scare me rather, some of my favorite times was racing in the rain, it's a hoot. I do worry about the other 5,000 cars around me... You know that dude; Left lane, driving at 35MPH and the blinkers on, with complete contempt of anyone else on the road. Get the F off the road A Hole!

She behaved well and didn't toss any surprises my way during what I think was one of my top ten, of challenging drives. I found the limits a couple of times and they came about rather predictably, rather than trying to swap ends of the vehicle.

Glad you had a safe trip.
Driving any more, even in good weather is risky, add rain & you are temping fate. Used to drive 106 miles a day when I was working, not sad those days are gone..

I'm with 'ya MrMCar, those drivers running four-way flashers in rain storms in any lane. If you are so unsure of your skills, vision or road conditions stay far to the right in the breakdown lane.... or better yet, get off the road entirely until you feel safe.

A good % of the time when you witness these poor driving skills / habits, these people are on their way to or from work.
When I was working, I used to leave very early in the morning to avoid this side show, had my breakfast @ work. No such luck on the way home..

Nice day here in the Piedmont of NC, but this afternoon heading to spend a week in the WNC mountains.
Probably starting the snow making machinery at the ski resorts sometime next week. Opening day will be the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Whoopee..... Telluride road trip!!!
