  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have been on the internet, "True Car" and various dealerships here in southwest Florida looking for a specific set of wants on a 2020 Telluride. What I am finding is "Take This One It Is Close To What You Want" when really it is not. When I do talk to a salesperson I get told I need to pay "MSRP" plus an additional $1900 to $3000 for an accessory package worth maybe $400 to $600. When I ask a specific question about just ordering what I want I haven't gotten a straight yes or no, just we can try to find one. I have been clear from the onset that I want what I want (EX, AWD, Tow Package, Interior Lighting, Black with Grey Leather, Bench 2nd Row) and I am willing to wait, not willing to pay over MSRP plus unwanted fluff.

That combination should be ordered. Just find a dealer willing to order what you want at the price you are comfortable with. Agree on price beforehand.

Not sure where you live, but I know I have found dealers in Tulsa, OK, and Broken Arrow, OK, that are willing to order the Kia exactly as I want it. I plan to go with the Broken Arrow dealer, however, because they seem less inclined to charge the "fluff" pricing items. It's definitely doable, and like another poster stated, it's about finding a dealer willing to work with you. I think it helps to work with dealership that structure their commissions based upon the amount of cars sold instead of the sticker price sold. I feel like that made a difference in my experience with shopping the Kia dealerships to date. Remember, it's a buyer's market. If someone isn't willing to work with you, then it's easy enough to keep searching for one that will. If they know you're willing to walk away, then they should stop the shenanigan's and get to business! :-)

The folks at Ferguson Kia in broken arrow are awesome we placed our order 2 weeks ago with mike he was so helpful. Now it’s a long waiting game. Midtown Kia in Tulsa has a 3,000 mark up that we were told everyone was doing. Ferguson places our order for msrp. So glad I called before settling at midtown.

Agreed - Ferguson wins our vote, too. I found the same mark-up at Midtown, but Ferguson seems more interested in getting the best deal for its' customers. I talked with Mike, as well, when my sales guy was gone for the day. Even though I wasn't his customer, he made me feel welcome and took his time talking with me about it. I'm looking forward to placing the order soon!
