• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Greetings everyone!

A lot of you folks may already know this...but for the others that don't, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (enforced by the FTC) makes it Illegal for manufacturers or dealers to void your warranty or deny coverage under your warranty simply because someone other than the dealer did the work.

Your can read more info here on the FTC Consumer Information page.

Thanks for the info AND that link.
One important paragraph is this:

Keep all your service records — no matter who does the service. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, new brake pads, and inspections. Create a file to keep track of repairs — it will come in handy if you have to use your warranty. If you ever have a warranty claim and it appears that you didn’t maintain your vehicle, your claim might be denied.
