Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Looking for folding cargo tray that "splits" up the 3rd row seats

Not sure about a tray, but that's how the Kia-branded "Cargo Mat with Seat back Protection" works if you're ok with a carpeted liner. I'm happy with mine thus far. I believe the part number is S9F12-AU100

When I was at the Kia focus group a few months ago, I made the same suggestion. We’ll probably have to wait for 3rd party solutions. I keep a moving blanket for protection in my rear cubby until then.

I got one of these OEM mats from kiastuff.com and can confirm that it allows just what you want— it sticks to the backs of the third row seats and is split so you can put one side of the seat up and leave the other down.
Quick edit to this question: I'm looking for a waterproof trunk/cargo liner.

The above-referenced OEM mat has a solid rubber backing so it is waterproof— it just doesn’t have a lip so it won’t contain large quantities of liquid.
Hey, how is it held on to the back of the 3rd row? Can you post some pics? TIA!

It's still smoothing itself out after being packaged, but here are some pics.

I also have this carpeted split cargo mat in my 2019 Sorento and it works like a dream. I don't live in a snowy climate so I can't speak to how it would handle wet items on a continuous basis. I agree that there needs to be one with a moisture barrier like the folding cargo mat. I'd purchase that in a flash.
