• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is the SX sound system really better than EX?

I have driven the EX but cannot find an SX to compare. Has anyone been able to compare?
I'm going to guess it makes a little difference - but not all that much. I'm interested in hearing what people say, though. I kinda said to myself that I'd never purchase a high-end car stereo system again after I went from the same exact car with the basic system and the high-end version a few years later - and felt it was a major waste of money...

If it's anything like the stinger Harmon Kardon system, specially designed for its interior, even using the body to properly transmit base... It'll be much better than the EX.

That's good to hear. The thing is, I went from a 2007 Lexus LS460L to a 2012 Lexus LS460L. I'm sure it was pretty much as good as it could get for the time - and I just didn't notice a difference. Perhaps I wasn't listening to the right music...

Most OEM audio systems are junk compared to aftermarket, especially bang for buck wise.

Everything has integrated HU now so I don’t know how the aftermarket vendors have adapted.

I would say TF’s experience is more likely for most OEM car audio upgrades and artificially accentuated bass is inferior if you want accurate reproduction.

Lots of the over marketed trendy headphones have silly overwhelming bass but they’re no Grados.

You sure do a lot of assuming. Best to experience it before talking.

I also have the top trim of a Hyundai product with the "premium" Infinity stereo system.

OEMs almost never do stereos systems on par with aftermarket and they're not a good value - that's the bottom line.

The Lexus Levinson and Porsche Burmester systems rival any after market system but they are over 7k additional so I am not expecting that from KIA, a good listen will tell. Eventually I will find a SX to compare.
