Vacation for week in PR and rented a Palisade ..missing my Telluride!!

We are currently on vacation in Puerto rico and we rented a Palisade. I MISS my Telluride! I will admit I like the way it looks ,not nearly as much as the Telluride . I do not like the inside. Getting to the 3rd row my kids hate it. I have an S with captain chairs and after this experience and so happy we do. Everyone in my family agrees Bruce (my Telluride) is such a better car all the way around. Just the set up inside seems so much smaller. Just my 2 cents if anyone has a questions let me know. I have it for a few more days. I haven't seen another Telluride here.

I looked at the Palisade also. Just does not have the carisma that the Telluride has. Hyundai dealers riding the same markup train. 4K for anything other that the top trim. And 10K for the top trim. Dealer had 6 on the lot! I hope they eat them!

Really? That's crazy! I haven't seen markups in Houston, but I quit shopping for Palisade back in July.

Palisade here are going under MSRP... tellurides like 1k over. You need to shop around...

So you like rugged look and style, others like me am with the Luxury Style i like Telluride but like I said I'm Luxury Style person and it pisses me off when people talk vehicles they nothing about or don't like that's personal problem not all the same things no matter what it is, and same for crappy Phones all the stupid things to big money stupid mess, camera, wireless charging, etc pisses me off go buy damn camera people are so stupid about things if you don't like something move on keep your complaint to yourself and stop being so dramatic over silly things. I here people do this all the time about things i use to be like that and realized how silly it is especially someone is trying to make everyone like or dislike as you do, people should do what makes them happy regardless of what others think or say.

Holy mackerel, calm down. I’m running out of breath just trying to read and decipher your response. This is a forum for Telluride owners and people interested in the Telluride. Nothing wrong with getting a person’s perspective on a competing product. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

This Telluride thread is hard core. lol I follow this thread and the Palisade's threads and they are a little bit more hospitable on the Palisade threads when the conversation turns to the Telluride vs the Palisade. At least on the threads that I follow. The reasons and consensus for either are consistent and SUBJECTIVE amongst most reviewers. Sporty vs Upscale (for lack of a better word). The reason for either is a personal decision and there is not a right or wrong answer. What I've sensed is that some Telluride owners feel a need to defend their purchase and I'm not sure why.

Agree. There are definitely pros and cons to each, but ultimately they are very, very similar vehicles. I think ultimately most people here become defensive bc the palisade has more features but they like the telluride because it looks better on the exterior. There is nothing to be ashamed of for that - but people tend to get defensive...

I've seen more than one reviewer state Telluride exterior and Palisade interior. Unfortunately not possible. At least for the 2020 model year. There really is not a bad choice here. Prior to seeing the Palisade in person my wife and I were all in on the Telluride, but then Kia put the breaks on ordering the SXP, which opened the window to consider the Palisade Limited AWD. Both vehicles require a double take when you see them on the road, but not in abundance. The Palisade has a way of growing on you. I see two distinct vehicles aimed at two types of purchasers.

As far as limited availability for the Telluride this is just demand (a complete anomaly that Kia didn't anticipate) outpacing supply, which I believed Hyundai learned from; hence you seeing more of than the Telluride. For me they have both been pretty much unicorns in the Atlanta metro area where I live. This limited availability can also lead to missed opportunities for both brands.

Missed opportunities for dealers who add on up to $10k on BOTH these vehicles. If dealers move more volume they get more allocation. With a “market adjustment” (or whatever the hell the call it) it will slow the turnover of vehicles for that dealer. Thus they will get less allocation. They are “shouting themselves in the foot!”

There's a Hyundai dealership near me that is selling Palisade with a minimum market adjustment of $5k depending on trim. However, you can order and pay MSRP and maybe take delivery in 3 to 4 months. My wife really likes the Palisade, but I visited a Volvo dealership yesterday and I had the dealer down to $57k on a 2020 XC90 Inscription. Last, year this time I would have bought this vehicle. What a difference a year makes. lol
